Sachin had captained india twice earlier and both the occasions he had stepped down from the captaincy may be because he may have felt that he was not able to do justice to the post. He has been going through a bad patch till recently and there were lot of criticism about his continuing in the team. However, with few good performance, he has kept the critics silent. The coming series against Pakistan and Australia will be very tough and if he accepts the captaincy and if india fail badly in these series, he will be again subject to lot of criticism. He does not want to take a risk at the *** end of his carreer and decided to play safe.

i think sachin is not happy with the behaviour of BCCI and selectors .senoirs are not given due respect ,first vengsarkar giving that undue statements in media and than rahul dravid was axed from the team .still BCCI is not intervening the matter.
i think if sachin refused for this than he is right because afterall the senoirs have done a lot for the team in the past and nobody has right to question on their commitment towards the game and the team.

i do no longer think of that T20 has made any difference to aim cricket yet easily IPL is the only that has made the attempt to boot as oneday vanish in INDIA. and only with the aid of fact of IPL the followers are given an extra dosage of cricket it somewhat is the main considerable clarification why there grew to become into no crowd interior the britain Vs India onedayers or maybe the eden gardens did no longer top off totally for the T20.!!!!!!

well, I think he want to concentrate on his batting for the upcoming Aus tour.
Dhoni, has won the T-20 cup, doing well in ODIs as Captain, give him a chance to prove his skills in Test Cricket as a captain.

For his personal ego.He thought BCCI is insulting the seniors. He should know that when you are playing for country & country needs you, there is no senior and junior. All are equal. You should come forward to take responsibility.

I think he is worried about pakistan. He should fear about the response of people, if they loss the test series. So that is y, he did not take responsiblity.
