There are a lot of good food in the Philippines. When in Manila or Makati or around it there are a lot of specialty restaurants that serve asian, western, vegetarian, etc. You cab also go to the suburbs like Laguna and look for an exotic restaurant that served snakes, monkeys, wild pigs, lizards, Batter check the web for the particular place that you want to visit. Filipinos are fond of fiesta that calls for a lot of food cooked and served. Happy Trip. We are by the way from Palawan.

Basically, Filipino foods are influenced by Spanish, Chinese and American foods. The majority, I mean.
For appetizers, the fried squid or Calamares is know here. Soups are also great.
For main dishes, almost everyone from other countries that have visited our country said it's great! Some of my picks that you should try are Adobo, Kare Kare, Caldereta, Beef Nilaga, and Dinuguan. There are lots to mention, so your tummy should be ready! =)
For desserts, we have the so-called "Halo-halo". Halo means mix. It's a dessert comprised of different ingredients like bananas, jackfruit, sago, gulaman, and many others, topped with ice and milk...mmmm!
For Christmas, we have these "Puto Bumbong" and "Bibingka". Great after attending the "Simbang Gabi" or what the Spanish call Misa de Gallo, in preparation for Christmas.
How about street foods for snacks? We have 'em!
Some are fishballs, squidballs, kikiam, bananacue, kamote cue and quail eggs....mmmm!
You should try it! Asian dishes with a Western touch! :p

Pampanga - Culinary Center Of The Philippines
Pampanga is populated by resourceful hardy folk who are justifiably proud of their famous Kapampangan cuisine.
Sisig is pork cheek, grilled to a crunchy perfection, chopped and mixed with chicken liver, onions, calamansi and fresh sili.
Kamaru are mole crickets sautéed in garlic and onion.
Other must-taste fare are:
pindang babi or damulag, which is sweet cured pork or carabeef;
burung talangka, which comes from the fat of salt-preserved little crabs; buro, or fermented rice with small shrimps; and betute, or stuffed frog.

each and each time I see ChowKing, i think of of Halo Halo, exceedingly on warm days. McDonalds has the Coke drift too, staggering to sip on whilst jogging around or in a warm jeepney. For nutrients, I would desire to vote for the Champ Burger (Jollibee). I additionally would desire to provide kudos to Burger gadget. Cole slaw on burgers is genius- and that they are everywhere. Siopao stands additionally, staggering for a speedy snack. i think of the Philippines has the worlds ultimate speedy meals LOL.

my sister says "If you like electronics, your gonna love the filipines". they recieve electronics from japan faster than we do since their closer. but watch out, if you have an american electronic, their going to tax you.
i like those little cakes my sister brings back sometimes, i think its called babinka. she couldn't bring any back on her last visit because the airport took it away, they destroyed it. i don't know why, they were stupid and thought the dogs sensed a bomb or something. or maybe they just took it and ate it.
somethings are cheaper there, my sister gained weight since the food was so good. make sure you can properly communicate with price, somethings might seem to be inexpensive when its a real delecacy. try some exotic foods like bugs or brains. my grandpa said pig brains make you smarter. it must be true, since pig brain is protein and its good for your muscles and your brain is a muscle.

Lots of Filipino food is quite good. we even make our own take on foreign recipes like we have sweet-style tomato sauce for pizza and sphaghetti, which is one of the few I don't like. Try eating Lechon, or roast pig. We also have Buko aka coconut pie, varieties of noodles, and a lot of spanish-inspired dishes. Dinuguan which is solidified pig's blood, milk fish belly or bangus belly, sisig which is spicy fried pig ears with onions and pepper, and my personal favorite leche flan which is essentially a Filipino version of creme bru le. sorry if creme bru le has wrong spelling, i know how to pronounce but not how to spell :P
