Where can you get acting auditions for background people in tv or movies or even in commercials because I've searched and I can't find anything.

extrasaccess.com is probably the best resource for that. Generally you don't need to audition. If you live in NY or LA you can sign up with a service that casts extras (for a nominal fee) and call in or be called for shows and that's that. They take your photo or you bring one in and they keep it on file.

In A the companies are Central Casting, Cenex, Bill Dance & some independant casting companies that cast specific shows.

In other areas, check each state's film alliances, commissions, etc. Those sites have info on casting, etc. Do a web search for the state name and the word film and see which sites come up.

Good luck,

Mostly in Los Angeles and New York City. You have to network, read the trades, have an insider with the Breakdowns services help you. If Breakdowns ever finds out, they suspend the person. It costs $2,000 a month to subscribe to them and they carry ALL the real casting low down.

You get suspended by them you die as an agency.
