Hello Moms/dads,

My son is 6 months plus, and he will be flying soon (for about 4-6hrs). So can you please tell me what things I may need to prepare?

Thanks and Regards,
Alex

Try and book the flight for nighttime when he'll be asleep if you can. Bring a bottle and pacifier for him to suck on in case the air pressure bothers his ears - swallowing will help him clear them. bring a couple of toys to play with that aren't noisy so they won't bother other passengers, and borrow/bring/buy a portable DVD player & a disney movie or something to hold his attention just in case - that was a lifesaver for us w/our grandson!

Well, obviously have extra changes of clothes in case of accidents, and all the basics :diapers, wipes, bottles, pacifiers and few favorite toys. Make sure he sees the doctor a day or two before the flight...if he had an ear infection or something it would be very unpleasant for the lot of you. On a normal occasion I wouldn't advocate this, but being stuck on an airplane with a screaming baby for 6 hours would be very unpleasant, so you may want to bring some baby benadryl, or cough medicine in case you just can't get him to settle down any other way.

I know I'll be thumbed down for suggesting that, but some situations are absolutely desperate.

i flew with my daughter at 3 months old and again when she was 6 months old and we are going to be flying again this month and she is 9 months old....what helped was using a binky when the plane took off and when it landed....ummm flying at night is also good b/c it's around the time when your child sleeps, so that helps ALOT, especially on long flights....i kept 2 toys for my daughter to play with to keep her busy.....hope this helps some...and good luck! long flights are hard especially when you have a loud and very active child like my 9 month old!! lol
