Both humans and modern apes evolved from a common ancestor.
Your question is a bit like asking "If my grandfather was my mother's father, why do I have cousins on my mother's side?"

Actually, the apes we're descended from have long since gone extinct. Modern apes are not our ancestors.
But your question really makes no sense. Apes didn't turn into humans; succeeding generations just became more human-like. Dogs are descended from wolves, but we still have wolves. And you're descended from your parents, and most likely they didn't disappear when you were born either.

We did not evolve from apes, we are their cousins. We both evolved from a common ancestor which is now extinct.

Humans did not evolved from monkeys. Humans were created.

We are not from the apes. We are created by God.
