As a mathematical term, do you pronounce it as:

a) low-cuss
b) lock-us

I thought a) was correct...is there are difference in how American/British pronounce it?

the correct pronunciation is LO-kus (or your version A)

the plural is loci and the preferred pronunciation is LO-sigh

Pronounce it the same way you would the name of the insect - the locust - which would be low-cuss. The plural is loci, which has a soft c, and is pronounced low-sigh.
