I am pretty overweight and have high blood pressure, Im trying hard to fix both. So any thing that causes weight gain or raises blood pressure is out of the question.
I have a high sex drive, and i like it that way, i've heard some BC pills decrease sex drive, and i would hate that. Heck, i would rather have something to increase it.
Anything that causes future infertility is OUT OF THE QUESTION.
Im not scared of shots, i can take pills, put on patches it doesnt matter. I'm just curious to know what type/brand of Birth Control would be the best for me.

i would stay away from the IUD. i've heard horror stories about the heavy bleeding it can cause and some people have issues having kids after using one.
i would use the pill AND condoms to be double safe. i was on birth control pills when i got pregnant with my last TWO kids (i had switched pills but got pregnant again) and i couldn't use condoms b/c i have a latex allergy.
using the pill and the condom will increase your safety against pregnancy and the condom keeps you safe from std's.
some pills can cause weight gain so discuss that with your dr. stay away from the shots too-they will for sure make you gain weight.
i use yaz birth control pills now b/c i was having really heavy periods (my tubes are tied-no more babies for me) and i also have a condition called PMDD. this pill is awesome. it shortens my period, makes it lighter, and treats my pmdd symptoms. i also have not experienced any weight gain with this pill. the best part-sex drive is NOT effected (my bf and i average twice a day sometimes three).
hope this helps

Well, the hormones are what cause the weight gain, and the high blood pressure. So pretty much any birth control you try could cause this. As for the sex drive, all my friends are on birth control and have never had a problem.
I would say though, I think an IUD would be worth looking into. Its non hormonal, and implanted into the ueterus. Its not comfortable to get put in (I have a few friends that use this, some had no problem, others had a bit of pain).
Here's a bit more about it http://www.plannedparenthood.org/birth-control-pregnancy/birth-control/intrauterine-devices.htm

You should always speak with your doctor to find out what is best and regardless of preexisting issues, all forms of birth control come with some type of risk (condoms probably the least unless you have an allergy), but there is a new bc out there called an IUC (intrauterine contraceptive) much like an IUD but w/out the copper. It is not permanent and lasts up to 5 years. Unfortunately for you it will not boost your libido :) but it doesn't carry the risks of the pill, patch or injections with blood pressure as it is hormone free. Good luck!

well, I am in the same boat. Except I suffer Ocular migraines to boot. Well...ok I am overwieght, but I do not have high BP....but I know what you are going through.
My doc's told me that the obly really safe form of birth control that I could take was the Depo shot...but I hate the thoguht of not getting my period, so I rely on condoms and spermicide...and I too have a high sex drive.
I do not think that the depo shot will decrease your sex drive, but it does have about a 7% chance of wieght gain....but to avoid that, just watch what you eat. It does not necessarily fool with your metabolism, it just makes me hungrier....so this might be the best choice for you...if not, stock up on condoms, foam....or you could see about getting fitted for a diaphram. ALso there are sponges.
There are many alternatives to hormonal BC out there....

Guess you're not up for abstinence then. That'd be safest and best all round, but not necessarily the easiest for you.
Condoms and spermicide would be the next best thing.
Have you considered the Mirena IUCD?
Depo Provera shots and OCP have both been shown to sometimes affect fertility afterwards - although this is very uncommon <5% or even fewer. You can find, however, that it takes some time for the menstrual cycle to recommence after this sort of contraception has been discontinued.

if you have high BP you can't be on a combined hormone method (pills, patch or ring). there is Micronor which is a progesterone only pill, safe for women with high blood pressure. Depo Provera is also progesterone only. If you want to go non-hormonal a Paraguard IUD or a diaphragm or condoms and spermicide.

If you are in a monogamous relationship you might want to consider the pill. The pill is highly effective and has a low propensity for side effects. I would recommend taking the lowest effective dose to help avoid unwanted side effects.
If you are not in a monogamous relationship it would be best to use condoms to protect yourself from not only pregnancy, but also sexually transmitted diseases.

You didn't say if you're in a long-term relationship or not...
If not... You're absolutely nuts not to use condoms.
If so... They're still the safest... Much of that other stuff will take years off your life or make you grow a beard...
EDIT: As much as I hate to say it... The chances of a male near your age not making some mistakes in life are... about zero... Use condoms.
