The score was 82-50 at that point, so I doubt he was taking out anyone the likes of Tom Brady...

Yes, I beleve he did it intentionally. He has tripped other players before. It is a soccer play and he loves soccer.

Nash isnt the best defender and constantly gets beat one-on-one, so naturally he tends to resort to those tactics when he gets frustrated.
Nash is known to be one of the dirtier players in the league. Of course, it all gets downplayed being Nash is the posterchild for basketball in Suburban America. It gets labeled as "gritty" or "tough" and "smart" while as others like Bruce Bowen are considered "dirty" or "cheap" and "athletic"...nevermind Bowen is argueably the best perimeter defender in the NBA. Funny how some things never change. But I digress...

To answer the question, I have no idea if Nash tripped Felton intentionally, since I can't seem to find the video (surprise, surprise)....so it lends me to believe he probably did.

In a nutshell? No. Two reasons:

One, Steve Nash is notorious for using his feet to kick balls when a player is throwing a bounce pass by him or when he gets crossed-over defending the dribble and he thinks he can get a foot under it. A kicked-ball violation is far less damaging than a layup for the other team, no?

Second, I've watched the video a half-dozen times now, and if you watch Nash's right foot, his ankle is starting to turn. It seems to me that Nash is desperately trying to counterbalance himself so he doesn't roll the ankle over. When he does, it seems as if Felton's right leg steps over and around Nash, but his left leg catches Nash's ankle and all three of their feet are dragged together.

I don't believe it was intentional but I don't think that he made a point not to. They had some words early and there seems to have always been some tension between the two.

It definitely looked intentional to me, and given his history of cheap little plays that are labeled "smart," it wouldn't surprise me. Go to youtube and check out his kicking Kobe Bryant on a layup.

i dont know the truth, but it's seems to be likely that nash would do that sort of things intentionally.
