If you have a proper security suite installed (antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc) from a RELIABLE vendor (such as McAfee, Norton, etc.. properly configured and up-to-date and automatically downloading updates... then it should have prevented malware from being installed or run... or should have alerted the nephew...
If you have this installed.. close out of any running programs, force an update of the security suite, and then perform a complete scan of your system.
If you do not have a proper security suite installed as described above... yesterday is the time to have had it... and I would suggest you perform a web based scan from http://housecall65.trendmicro.com
and then scoot to the store and get a proper security suite tomorrow.
In future, I would also suggest you create an account for guests that does not have admin privileges so that they cannot disable security or install any programs.
I strongly urge you not to listen to people providing poor advice about installing other programs, clicking on suspect links, or giving you biased opinions ...
Good Luck!

Neutralize. Delete the file that is the virus. Or run a system restore. Or buy some anti-Virus software to remove it b4 it spreads. But if you don't know your way around a computer I wouldn't recommend deleting any files as you probly cant spot a viruso or distinguish between an important file that shouldn't be deleted.

this will help go to help and support from start bar type "system configuration utility" in the search bar once found open it on the startup tab click "disable all" and then click apply then on the system tab click "hide all microsoft programs" then click "disable all" and apply restart your computer.... this won't get rid of the virus program but should turn it off you leave it alone or use an anti-virus program to get rid of it.

After scanning with all sorts of anti-virus, anti-spyware and registry fixer programs I usually end up having to reinstall my operating system. Luckily it happens very rarely because I run anti-virus and firewall software and run Firefox with Adblock Plus add-on and only download legitimate software and don't open spam email.
Whoever gave everybody two thumbs down: Where's your superior answer?

what i do is. turn off the computer, turn it on, press f8 or f12 or esc (depending on the computer) to change the boot mode. Start it in Safe mode. Do a virus scan. Delete all detected files, then change the BOOT.INI (Start menu/Run/msconfig) and make it normal startup again. restart the pc and normally im done, its all clean
((i use a-squared free anti virus))

Scan with your antivirus program. If you don't have one; Get it.
Try a online antivirus scanner like BitDefender http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
and anti-spyware/adware scanner like Ewido http://www.ewido.net/en/
