This is the second time you've asked this question so I have to ask you if you're so against smoking why don't get rid of your fireplace because its emits more carcinogens than cigarettes.

Also, you shouldn't work or live by a factory for the same reason.

Don't light a campfire for the same reason.

Be sure to wear your bicycle helmet all the time.

When I was growing up there were only a few restrictions on cigarette smokers. Now they're treated like scum.

How dare the health radicals change the rules on them. Who died and make the health-nuts God? Its gotten so I no longer consider myself a liberal because its gotten so out of hand.

I say stop drinking and smoking dope! Clean up your side of the street first. Then we can talk.

because it is the backbone of this country, what it is was founded on and like the others say it's how they make me pay for your kids education in AZ and healthcare in other states. Notice how it's not focused at alcohol; which way more people do than smoke. They have already learned not to mess with people's alcohol during prohibition. For that reason they figured they'll just tax the people who are really addicted to something, and can't stop no matter how high they raise the prices. Similar to what they let happen to fuel prices.

There is too much tax to be made from smoking, but if they banned smoking and made it illegal then huge public companies could go bust. That very easily could trigger a massive recession and unemployment would soar. It benefits us all to allow smoking even though some detest it. Far better to put up with a little smoke than lose your house, your job and a decent standard of living.

Over 600,000 people from the farmer to the retailer are involved in cigarettes. Some police departments in the U.S. make their payrolls from the taxes on smokers, some pay their fire departments on the cigarettes people smoke. The alternative, raise the taxes to compensate, are you willing to vote "yes" for this?

Taxed. Government does not benefit from illegal drug trade as much as it it were legal. If Unionised in legitimate manner it could be very lucrative. People do not benefit from legal drugs either as some have side effects
