Slipper - There is no doubt in any true cricket fan's mind that right now Ponting is the biggest thing in cricket.
Ricky Ponting is right now the 'KING' od world cricket.

But i think he's still a couple of steps below both Sachin & Lara. But thing that is in his favour is 'AGE'.
Future belongs to him. If he maintains his consistency for the next 3-4 years, i am sure he can beat Sachin & Lara.

The thing which is in Sachin & Lara's favour is that Ponting is yet to prove himself on spinning tracks.
Some people also say that he played in an era when there weren't many great fast bowlers. On the other hand Sachin,Lara had to play a lot of deadly fast bowlers in the early part of their careers.
**** Another factor - Ponting & Lara luckily never suffered a big injury during their career while Sachin has suffered half-dozen of them, some of them being career threatning

But Ponting is ahead of both Sachin & Lara when it comes to performance under pressure. He is a big match player .

Though Ponting is doing extremely well, he will never able to break the records set by Sachin Tendulkar. Hence he cannot be considered as better batsman than Sachin and Lara irrespective of his current performance.

Ponting is lucky guy, with all his mannerism during the early stages of his career, I don t know how he was really chosen to captain Aussie, He reminds me of Vinod Kambli, who was a spoilt brat. It is because of Ponting, that sledging has gone on to a new level. It was all under control, during the tenure of Chappel, Border, Waugh, Hughes, Taylor, but Ponting has changed the rules of the game. I am not bothered how good a batsmen he is. He is a bad example for cricket in general, and he definitely involved in something big only time will tell. watch out.

An absolute maestro with the bat - Bradman was right when he said Tendulkar was the closest he had seen to a master batsman.

I am bias though, I think Ponting is going just a bit better at the moment.

How's Tendulkar's form at the moment???
