We don't have "Thanksgiving" here in Australia. But I don't like the idea of it because I think it's origins have something to do with killing Indians and taking their land.

I don't care about the parades, football, the turkey with all the trimmings, and all the other Thanksgiving rituals

But, I do like Thanksgiving because I get to see all my loved ones, the ones that live close to home and the ones that come home for Thanksgiving.

I also like it because it makes me think of all the things I normally take for granted the rest of the year, like my husband and children, and all the rest of my relatives.
It also makes me think about how lucky I am that I live in this country, own a home, am reasonably healthy, and on and on.

What could be better than that!

Yes. I like it so much I celebrate it twice. I live in Canada and our Thanksgiving is in October. I usually have a special family dinner on American Thanksgiving too.

No. I hate Thanksgiving. It's a stupid holiday. I have to deal with my family for hours... I really wish they would just go away. The same for Christmas. I really just can't wait until it's all over.

I like the eating part, but I absolutely hate the hassle of preparing a turkey to go into the oven.

yes it's the ultimate redneck get together with dogs and guns and one year every one pulled out their knives to show them to each other. Then there is the food. So far we have had Bear Deer, elk, moose, wild hog, and then the regular stuff. It's always interesting.
