No, do not soak in the bath tub/spa as infection can get inside your vagina and cervix. Showering is the best way to go. Get a plastic chair and sit in there with the water running if it helps. Try to abstain from sex now too for the same reason unless doc gives it the okay.
Once you lose your mucus plug, your cervix can start to dilate which is how the infection can get in. Not a good idea at any stage of pregnancy.
Good luck and I hope bubs comes soon. I delivered my 2nd 24hours after I lost my plug so I hope it happens soon for you too.

Losing your mucous plug (a thick snotty glob or globs) is completely different than your water breaking (a thin, clearish liquid). It is true that many care providers discourage baths after your water has broken to prevent infection, but not all. I have never heard of a care provider discouraging baths after just the mucous plug has gone. If it was your mucous plug only, you are fine to take a bath, as the amniotic sac is not ruptured and protects against infection. Enjoy the tub!

I didn't know that you couldn't take a bath after you loose your mucous plug. I lost my mucous plug 2 days before I gave birth to my son. At the time I was 17 and living with my mom. She doesn't have anything but a bath tub.

I lost my mucous plug when I was 8 months pregnant with my fisrt son. No one ever told me I couldn't take baths so of course I took them! I never got any kind of infections. This is when I found out it's not always true that when you lose your mucus plug you're about to start labor. I had to be put on oxytocin because I was 41 weeks and still no signs of labor. All I'm saying is unless your water breaks, it's ok. Real life experience!

You can still have a bath, in your own tub at home even if your water has broken...just no douching :) The bath may well be your friend thru labour to relax you and help with pain, and even if your bathtub isn't pristine at home you have antibodies for the germs in it and so does your baby. Congrats and enjoy this amazing experience.

Yes if you lose your plug the recommend you to not take a bath due to you could possibly get an infection. I know it sucks but you have a short time to go and then have all the baths you want...lol Good Luck!

uhhh you have lost the main barrier to keeping the bacteria out..I wouldn't take a bubble bath but I doubt you can be harmed by a bath in general...Maybe take a quick shower first then relax in the tub....BTW the tub has a LOT of bacteria on it!!! Clean it really well to make sure you are safe!!

No, you can bathe as long as your water doesn't break.
Once your water breaks you can't bathe.
Doctors just recommend not bathing once you lose some plug because they don't want your water to break when you're in the bath and not have you notice it.
