Asparagus can be grown from root crowns that are two to three years old. This is a much quicker way of establishing an asparagus bed than growing from seeds, it will take 2 years off of the time that it takes to grow asparagus from seed. Most garden centers and online retailers carry these.

Asparagus beds are long term projects. The shoots should be cut sparingly the first couple of years, but once established, they will produce for many years.

while the berries turn crimson, they are ripe. (undecided why you call them "pods" by means of fact the berries are produced singly, not in pods.) once I decrease down the plant life interior the autumn, the countless berries drop to the floor interior the approach. frequently, I merely wait to make certain the little one asparagus sprout interior the spring, and transplant them to the place i could like them to strengthen. yet you may harvest thes berries while they are crimson or brown.
