Hey - this would of course depend on whether you are a morning or night person; what happened "today" or is happening "tomorrow"; the seasons would also play a part (eg sunshine usually makes people happier, whilst winter darkness can be melancholic)

For example: The end of a great day could be depressing; whilst the start of new day that has sad memories could cause you to be depressed.

I think that it would have to depend on what was happening or what happened that day. If it was a particularly bad day then dusk would be better because that day would be over. If you got no sleep at all and had a long day ahead of you then it would be dawn. For me personally I think that dawn is more depressing. Just because it means that I am one day older and closer to losing what little of my mind that I have left.

Dawn and dusk are the times of day that I am more in tune with nature, so I would say neither. We have a lot of deer and it's when they come out from hiding. I look forward to their presence. I can even sense it before I see them.Their beautiful forms with the backdrop of a beautiful sunrise or sunset. How could anyone be depressed.

I think it depends where you live, what you want to do and the season. For example; a beautiful sunset after a hot summers day promises a pleasant evening outside on the porch, chatting, strumming on the guitar or whatever but a bright clear morning after an overnight heavy frost [minus 5 last night] is also uplifting and a couple of feet of snow is great to wake up to if you love to ski. For me, constant rain and heavy cloud is mildly depressing - particularly in the morning. Hopefully that sort of answers your question - although not exactly I admit!

when i still had a job...it was dawn (simply cause an hour or so after the dawn means i'd have to drag myself to work)

now that i've become a glorified bum...it's dusk(cause staying home overtime i've returned to become the antisocial that i really was since birth....that by dusk.. i'd be already too bummed since...i just sit here in front of this tube...rooted on this chair...waiting for wild vains to shoot up from this tiled floor and crawl up and coil around my legs up...expecting it would one day gobble up the rest of me...)...
