does the EPA regulate all sink/tap water?
why are there filters such as brita if tap water is safe to drink?
what about areas where there are a lot of nitrates in the tap water?
i'm doing a presentation trying to persuade the audience tap water is just as good as if not better than bottled water..

There are pro's and con's to both.
Tap water generally goes through a lot more regulations and testing than bottled water. THAT really needs to be changed.
Brita systems are used just as much for taste as they are for health. Actually, there is just as much potential to make you sick as there is to make you healthier. I use one, but if I had kids I don't know if I would. Maybe I would, just not the pitcher system.
Tap water is kept safe by putting a lot of chlorine in it. Chlorine kills the germs. Some places need to use A LOT of chlorine. Filters take out the chlorine. Bottled water, by design, doesn't have chlorine either. It tastes better and drinking all that chlorine couldn't be that good for you. So, once you've filtered out the chlorine, your water is fresh and pure, right? Well it will only be at the hygienic standard of the person with the lowest hygiene handling it.
Filters do take out metals that might be present at acceptable test levels. So you can reach a higher standard of pure water. But keep in mind, filters tend to reduce the levels and not completely remove them.

Tap Water just as good? Brita Filters are ok, but best filters are RO, You really need to know whats in the water, using a TDS Meter will show how many total disolved minerals are in the water, you can also get a report from your local goverment whats in the water supply, High Nitrates will cause the runs, lol

"faucet water is mostly a secure decision, bottled water isn't. Cooked nutrition is mostly a secure decision, quickly ingredients are actually not." (those are analogous in style and content textile) the version stands in actuality that faucet water is examined by potential of docs and by potential of regulation they might desire to declare while water is contaminated. Bottled water may be secure while is out of production unit, yet as transportation, solar exposure, and mishandling could make it even plenty worse than faucet water. just to declare: cooking may be each each now and then risky, in case you do not understand what you prepare dinner, or you do not wash your palms, and so on. however the hazards going out are continually better than you will prepare dinner for your self (weight problems, some infections)

The filter company's need to make money. If tap water was so bad for health there would be something being done about it. I am sure my tap water is poisoning me though, seriously. I rang Yorkshire water about it and they laughed!

Come on! A few minerals in your water are good for you!
Go to www.InnovativeHealing.com for more information about it - call and speak with Liz Lipski or Kaleigh (pronounced "kayluh"), and they can help you out with it.
