Organ Donor

I am an organ donor.
I figure after I die, I wont need them any more anyways, so if my organs can help others, and save someone else's life, then I should donate them.

Suhail, why do you feel we should not donate our organs? (not trying to be critical, just curious as to someone else's point of view)

I am an organ donor. I'm a nurse and have seen people die due to not having organs provided for them to live. I would like to save someones life. I'm dead it's not like I need my organs anymore.

No, I heard back in the early 90's a woman who was in a really bad accident went into the e.r and she was a donor, and the doctor who was treating her, had a best friend who needed a transplant, and he let that woman die so he could use her organs for his friend, I am pretty sure that this story is an urban myth but everytime they ask me at the dmv if i wanted to be a donar i think of this story and say no immeditay.

Yes I am now because I thought it would be a good idea to help others if I die and have good organs left. But now that my organs could go to a person in prison I'm thinking about changing. Yes its true, your organs could end up in a convict. :-)

absolutely!
I am a nurse, and have seen somethings that made me want to help someone else if I could. I mean, if your dead, you don't need your organs anymore, just knowing some child may be able to see because of me, or some mom can continue to raise her child because of my liver(or whatever)
Medical science is awesome, my moms new husband is in the hospital right now waiting for a liver transplant, and is next on the list.
yup, when I die, they can have whatever they want, as I won't be needing it anymore. Then cremate the rest of me, so the maggots don't eat me

Yes I am. If I am killed or when I die, I'd rather have someone that needs the organ(s) get them than do without and die, not having a chance to live a good life at all.

I am a body donor. I have several disabling problems that I am hoping can be of use to medical students or scientists after my death. I will not be using this body after I'm with the Lord so am looking forward to having it donated to science.

Yes. I know people who's lives have been saved through organ donation. I don't need my organs when I'm dead, and if I can save someone's life with my death of course I would. I don't want someone to die unnecessarily when my organs could have saved them.
