Many of us joke around and act silly here, and sometimes we offer what we think are serious answers. But sometimes, when you see someone really seems to be hurting, do you wish you could reach out, help them see they are not alone and offer them the hand of friendship?

A lot of people seem to reach out for me. And I don't blame them... these days my silly nature has taken a back seat, and my more melancholy and cynical side has taken control of the wheel.
Thanks for your friendship. It is greatly appreciated.

I like coming here for fun and for a good laugh sometimes, but I can be very serious too. And I feel I have reached out to some people because I share my experiences with others that may be going through the same thing I did. I also let them know they can contact me if they need advice or just someone to listen to them.

A lot of times. A lot of times I answer seriously, but I'm actually a 12-year-old that one day gotten so bored, registered for a e-mail account, and became addicted to Yahoo!Answers, and I sometimes goof around with my answers too. But yes, I have always wanted to reach out to someone on Y!A and help them, especially like other have said, if I have been there or is on the same boat as them, or sometimes it's just plain heartbreaking to read the question like abortion or something.

There are times I actually do that. I did that with someone who is young and felt unworthy. He quit Yahoo, but is my friend and we email all the time.
When I see someone is hurting, I do what seems right. I email the person and offer to be a friend. Sometimes, a friend they can talk to is the best thing you can offer them.

Several times but the person who asked for help sometimes does not recognize it. Help seems to be a matter of perception based upon their present circumstances. Answers are depending on the asker choices. Whether the answer fit in to her current situation or not; or is it the kind of answer she would like or expected to read. I did my part, whether the asker will recognize it or not.

Yes, but by the same token they can reach out for help as well............Those who have E-Mail are easy to offer help to or ask for help.........People who truly want help from others on Y.A. should reach out..........Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger than it is to talk to family or friends...........A stranger, for the most part will not be judgemental and might be able to offer help just based on the situation.........CAT

Any chance I get. If I have something that might be of help to them. I will gladly share it.
