I think the point of life is to fully realize yourself.
Be all that you can be in order to create even more. You have to become your own creator.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Personally life for me are all about purpose and destiny... knowing your place in the world. There are events in our lives that provided us experiences, they maybe traumatic, bitterness, joy, love, disgrace, so many to mention but they hold purpose.
If I die a meaningless death, if someone got seriously ill, if a child is born with 8 limbs... the meaning is just purpose. So that all will learn and understand from it.
If we are too busy on just one thing and not look around and see our blessings we can never understand life.

You have free will, that much is obvious whether you are atheist or believe in a god. Having free will means that your life is yours to shape. In other words, the point of your life is yours to create, or discover, for yourself, as it is with each of us. Experience life a little, do some inner exploration, then decide how to make the most of your life.

The point of life is to exist and perpetuate itself.
Not very romantic, but there you are.
BUT, what you do with that life... therein lies the trick.
What to do with it is go out and have experiences; love, lose, win, play, cry, laugh, spend, run, and a million other things that are out there waiting for you.
Your life is a series of experiences - so go have them.

I think discovery is the point of life. God created man for his pleasure. That's it. We can do whatever we want to do to entertain ourselves because we have freewill. God has his requests for how we should live our lives. But think of it like this - when you are born you have learned nothing. Then you begin learning, discovering. Then you start focusing on paths of discovery that interest you specifically. The end of life doesn't necessarily mean the end of discovery though.

Why should there be a point. We are a glorious cosmic accident, perhaps the first species to develop intellegence and the potential to understand the vastness of our cosmic surroundings. Perhaps this is the 'nursery' from whence our human family might colonise space in the milliomns of years to come and before our planet is exhausted and our sun dies. Your priviledged part is to be an infinitesimal link in the chain.

Your life is a gift.
You decide what you want to do with that gift.
Will you cherish the gift or discard it?
Will you abuse the gift or hold it as a sacred embodiment of the spirit that dwells within.
If you don't get it chances are you're looking in the wrong place - check inside.
