People will still try to accomplish things because they want to help society, not so they can get more money.

Actually, Willie D, I do not like the grading system at all. It makes people loose the importance of learning and instead makes everyone relate everything to "is this going to be on the test?". The real focus is lost.

W...T...F. You are the craziest person I've ever "seen" in my life. "Equality" as you define it, will NEVER exist. Not in this life anyway. What is the importance of learning to you? You think everyone would learn out of "the goodness of their hearts"? Just because it's the "right thing" to do? People, (in general,) who get crappy grades, get those crappy grades because they DON'T CARE. Because they're not bothering to pay attention and learn what they're supposed to. Getting rid of the grade system will not make the "main focus" clearer. Why should anyone do anything with communism? In your perfect world everyone would be exactly the same, with the same hopes and dreams and just want to help everyone out of the goodness of their hearts. People aren't like that. People are individuals, not robots. What the heck have you been smoking? >_<

Like it or not, we all DO have the same opportunity for success. It's what we make of it that counts.
Some people are born into poverty and rise to the top because they refuse to just become another statistic.
Some people win the lottery, get rich, and end up living in a cardboard box a year later.
Seems you have a very negative attitude, based on your question and comments... and NOTHING will hold you back more than that.

The only equality there is the equal protection and rights under the law. That's it. If you believe in God, a creator or a higher power then you believe that everyone is created equal as in they all come from the same source and they all have a soul and inalienable rights. If you do not believe in God, etc, then you have pretty much scrwed yourself out of that right.

That is all equality means.
It does not mean you have the same brains, IQ or drive to succeed. And if you try to take away anything from those who have worked for it, I am sure they will also have the fight in them not to let you have it.

I have $5 that says you're a big fan of capitalism.

Lets say there are 50 kids in your class and you all study 3 hours for a test. However, you retain 90% of what you studied and everyone else only retained 10% of what they studied. You get and A and they all fail.

Do you think it's fair that your score be lowered and theirs be raised to make things equal?

Didn't think so....welcome to capitalism.

It embraces the Equality of a level playing field not the players.
Some are better at some things than others and so it has always been and so it will always be.
There probably has always been some children around that thought they knew better than the grown ups too.

It doesn't deny or support equality. It is an economic system. In the US everyone has the opportunity to flourish under capitalism. Giving people that opportunity is all we can guarantee, we can't guarantee that they will take full advantage of it.........

It is up to you whether you get a good job or not. In a previous question you claimed not to be lazy, if this is true you should have no problem doing what is needed to get ahead.....

Its not equal in that everyone gets a job, its equal in that everyone has the opportunity, if they are so inclined and able.

If you're as stupid as your questions make you out to be, then sure, you'll never get a good job.

However, what makes you think that communism (or anything else) WOULD give you a good job?

It's quite simple. We're not equal. We don't look the same, we don't act the same, we don't have the same desires or the same dreams. We should all have the same rights and an opportunity to better ourselves but to pretend like we are the same person is not only insensible, it's delusional.

that is undesirable. that is that terrifying breed of state capitalism that exploits human beings. i'm no magnificent-libertarian, yet i might say it could have been sturdy if that they had embraced the capitalism of classical liberalism. a minimum of, it could have been lots greater effective than communist China and the present state capitalist China.

Capitalism is the #1 reason for the progress of civilization.

Communism is the #1 reason for stagnation.

All of one or the other is not good, but a balance is definitely needed in order for the stability and prosperity of society.
