You have to be really good, in fact outstanding to get a role on Broadway. All you can do is go to the auditions and see if in fact you are good enough but to be honest having your friends tel you you're good and loving to sing Broadway songs does not mean you are a performer ready for the stage. You need training and experience in a smaller venue first. Why don't you get involved in theatre locally first. Try community theatre on for size and get into some classes. If you audition for your local productions and are consistently getting lead roles then absolutely gor for Broadway, but if you are given ensemble roles or always get supporting parts then you are not ready for Broadway.

You're in NY! There are tons of places for training. Take advantage of your location.

think about it,

The above answer is correct and youre in from the very wrong end my friend. Forgett about being a leed actor on broadway and focuse on getting practice and education and get to know the right people. By then you should have a clue about if you got the right stuff for broadway and remembering that friends arent always fair on questions like this. Johan

How old are you?
While it's true that to make it on Broadway you have to have tons of training and be extremely talented, there are also some children's roles in some current shows (Young Cosette in Les Mis, the 2 Banks children in Mary Poppins, Young Simba and Nala in The Lion King off the top of my head) where they won't expect you to have years and years of experience. The expectations are different for children, but they'll still want a great voice and good stage presence.
Have one of your parents check out the Actors Equity website for casting calls in NYC.

I am afraid that you don't. Broadway shows only take the very best actor, singer, dancers who are recommended by agents or who pass a very stringent audition series. You need lots of training and experience to join them. Forget it until you get it.
