When was the last time you lied and why did you lie? Now ask why this person lied to you and how it affects your security about yourself. When I lie I debase my word to others. My word, my opinion, my attempt to talk to the world as an expert of something is totally debunked. That is the sorrow of lying.

Am a man, so the only sin that I cannot forgive is that of a woman who cheats on me, speaking of relationships of course. There are other sins that I would find hard to forgive but the bible says that if you expect God to forgive you, then you must find it in your self to forgive others. This ofcourse for me, is tied to the condition that it will never happen again. Needless to say, the trust between us is eroded some, because of the lie, and it will take alot of other true answers to repair the effects of one lie.

depends on how important the false factoid affected you.
Otherwise, just let it go, forgive the schmuck, and get on with your life. Don't waste you energy by expending any more of your life than is needed. don't react overly as that will make the liar feel more important 'cause they made you make a fuss. Some unfortunate souls will take any kind of attention they can get even if it is negative.

Here's my motto: When someone tells you who they are - believe it.
So that means if someone lies to you, they are a liar. If you have enough self respect you would never be friends with a liar therefore the friendship is over. End of discussion.
Hope this helps.

People lie it's a sad fact. The lie however is the real issue. Is it a lie like I like your shoes or a lie like I slept with your boyfriend? Different lies mean different outcomes. Some are unforgivable others are forgivable

Write about it in a journal or something, then after you have cooled off, ask them about it. Tell them that you are aware of what they did and just wanted to know, Why? Not that knowing why will change your perception of that person but if they genuinely apologize for their shortcomings, the healing for you both can began.

the reaction to the situation would purly depend upon how intimate one is .Lie from a close one can be excused only if there was a geniuine reson for doing so elso its not expected from a dear one. Rest others it only shows their mentelity and helps you to assess them and place them accordingly in your real life. You know you cannot change them act accordingly
