True, and in more ways that one: all the heavy elements that make up our Earth were forged in and by stars. We are, literally, children of the stars.

You've thrown a good one. It is obviously false. A Child comes from a parent. Everything that can reproduce brings forth after its own kind. The sun is the source of energy, not life. It is material, your soul is eternal. God is the source of your soul life which is encased in that body he prepared for you. It is not a Christian thing, it is the true thing. I don't know how long you will exist if you were to aproach the sun within 1500 miles shouting "mama mama!" to give it a great hug; you will be roasted! But God is love and you can come to him in meekness and reverence. What dose the worship of nature make you? well, I think you already know the answer.

If it is true it would be a vacuous truth. Philosophy is all about distinctions, such a statement ignores distinctions. Additionally the while the sun may be a necessary cause for our creation, it is hardly a sufficient one whereas our parents are both necessary and sufficient.

Probably false.
What was there before the sun, that caused the sun to be?
And what was there before the cause of the sun?
The sun is not the creator. It is merely a resource which sustains life as we know it. But there are many more things of which we are completely unaware.
We are not only related, but are ONE, without the perceived boundaries in which we were raised to believe.

That's a long shot. But largely true. That's why the Sun is worshipped as God by many sects...our very own life-giver and sustainer!

indeed, we are children of the Sun, of the universe, of the world... we are all children in the sense that we have birth right to what has been created by the Creator, right to the bearer of the Gifts, of our nature, of the Sun, the giver of life...
we are One...

That is a gross simplification.
The christians use a similar conviluded logic to prove the existence of their mythical god...

Without God.......no of these would exist. We are children of the Lord, even the non-believers. So..FALSE is my answer.
