Since the Big-12 has three of the top six teams and none of the other conferences come close to that, doesn't it stand to reason that the winner of that shootout should play for the title? and why does Oklahoma catch so much crap for losing that miracle game against traditional powerhouse Colorado? Did you know that Colorado at home when unranked has beaten more top rated teams than any other team ever in the nation? LSU lost to Kentucky which has never been known for football, they lost after Oklahoma which should count, and they really should have lost a couple of other games too. Oregon lost at home- 'nuff said! It just seems to me that with most of the top power in the Big-12, our winner deserves to go. Well, if we get screwed, we can take solace in beating the crap out of whoever we do play in our bowl games. No matter what, Oklahoma can extend their record number of top five finishes.

CR- LSU barely got by Oklahoma in 2003 due to it being a home game and they got all the calls and our QB was injured. We lost by 7 points - not a blowout. We won the 2000 national Championship and won more championships than anyone in the modern era of football. You can only make statements like that out of pure jealousy!

Oklahoma has a better defense than anyone in the SEC!

And just exactly how did oklahoma not deserve to be in the title games when they were absolutely destroying great competition like Vince Young's Texas 65-13 (could have been 95-13, and A&M 77-0? Did you also forget that the supposed unbeatable team of Florida State got shut out by our awesome defense in the 2000 title game? What the hell is wrong with you people. If anyone is undeserving here, it would be LSU who Should have either three or four losses to very average SEC teams.

Iowa state is playing fgood football right now and could beat at least 4 teams in the SEC. Colorado on a good day would beat Auburn, Tenn. or Arkansas. Our lower team K-state beat the crap out of Auburn on their home field!!!!!

Whine And Window Guy - The Big-12 is obviously the best conference this year. You must be sniffing a little Windex there.

Yes. They have the top rated and best teams at the end of the season. They shouldn't get screwed by politics and media darling teams. kansas should be ranked #1 going into the big-12 title game because they will have beaten Mizzou who is better than any of the other top teams. Either them or OU should go to the title game.

First Oklahoma has a loss to a unranked team, not saying they are not a good team, but LSU lost to a ranked Kentucky and Ohio State is undefeated. Kansas will be a more likely candidate if they win the Big 12 Championship.

LSU 75.49 (12), Ohio State 68.63 (63), Oregon 75.42 (13)play harder schedules than Oklahoma 67.71 (72) and
Kansas 62.69 (106)

They are also #4 and #5 in the BCS standings that really decides the fate of all teams.

Total Defensive wise Auburn has better stats than Oklahoma

Colorado has not been a Top 25 rated team since 2002

Not beating on the Big 12, but there is allot of factors against them..

I can tell there are a bunch of losers out there, sore from the fact that OU football is back. After a 2 year funk, OU is back in the race.

Anyways, back to the main point. These people hate OU. They hate the Sooners so much that they will examine every set-back and, from those set-backs, make extraordinary claims.

The facts are:

OU lost at Colorado in a hostile environment, both physically and mentally. They were overlooking the Buffaloes, they played the Texas Longhorns the next week, so it's understandable. This loss was a major set-back. OU deserved to fall for losing to such an inferior team. But, they made up for that loss by beating a good Texas team and by beating a very good Mizzou team. They have an excellent defense, in that they stopped Chase Daniel and forced turnovers and other costly mistakes.

LSU has a valid argument to be number 2. They have a tough schedule.

Oregon lost at HOME. It'd be understandable if they lost on the road, but you gotta get it done at home, especially in their crazy little stadium.

In short, the teams must win their games, and one of them will be heading to the National Championship game.

Not if LSU and Ohio State win out. If either team loses, then Oregon could get in there. I think BOTH teams would have to lose for any Big 12 team to get in.

Now, I wouldn't call Colorado a traditional powerhouse, but they aren't exactly unknown. I get what you're saying there.

LSU lost to Kentucky, who was ranked 17th in the country at the time and have a Heisman candidate QB in Woodson. They lost in 3 OTs.

Oklahoma lost to an unranked, inconsistent Colorado team that is now 5-5. They have Iowa State and Nebraska left. Both I think are wins, but I'd watch out for Iowa State. Nebraska I wouldn't worry about.

Oregon has ONE loss. Whether it's at home or not doesn't matter to the BCS at all. It was to a 9th ranked California team.

Top power? In that terrible conference where Nebraska was supposed to be GOOD this year? Well, it won't be a screw job. Last year they wanted to take it out on Boise State. Look what happened?

It will never happen. People's perceptions are more important than reality, and because people think that OU was underserving in '03 and '04, they will hold that against them this year. It's like the morons who keep claiming OU was "blown out" by LSU. Anyone who watched the game knows how lucky LSU was to squeak by with their 7 point win (I blame Chuck Long more than the refs, but both played their part) but people aren't going to quit saying OU was blown out just because its not true.
Maybe whoever wins the Big 12 should just claim that won a share of the national championship even if they get left out the game. Didn't some Pac 10 team try that a few years ago?

Simply put, no.

Kansas needs to play a little real competition, and will only do so if they make it to the Big 12 title game. Then they'll probably have to face Oklahoma. I definitely don't want to see Oklahoma in another undeserved title game either. They've already screwed over Auburn and Southern Cal. That's enough.

I think right now Oregon and LSU hold the lead over the rest of the competition. If Oregon and LSU drop another game, then we'll talk about a Big 12 team. I am actually hoping Ohio State drops a game, maybe to Michigan, and have a LSU/Oregon v. Kansas (Hopefully they finished unbeaten with a Big 12 title.)

If it is Kansas then yes they are undefeated, and if they win out then being an undefeated team from the BIG 12, is more deserving then being a loss team from the SEC (LSU), or a 1 loss team from the PAC 10 (Oregon).

If the winner is someone else then most likely Oregon, or LSU, since Hawaii is discriminated against (which they should sue the hell of the BCS for, maybe then we will get a playoff) even if they run the table, for further proof of that just ask Boise St.

I totally agree with you. There is no way that LSU should be
# 2. KS is not getting any respect. If BC was # 2 just because they were undefeated then why shouldn't KS be # 2 now. I hope that LSU gets beat in the SEC championship and Ohio St loses to Michigan and OU beats KS in the Big 12 championship. I would love to see a rematch of OU and Oregon to make up for the game last year when the refs handed Oregon the game on that terrible call.

Oklahoma losing to Colorado is big I still believe thay are one of top four in the country but Colorado got pushed around at home by a 6-3 FSU team whos offense was pitiful at the time.So no the winner of the we like to play patsies besides ourselves confrence should not automatically go ,but if Oregon wins out they should jump to no.2 and go. I am an FSU fan and prefer ACC and SEC football because of the way they play defense , but Oregon is deserving this year more so than media darlings LSU.

They have three of the top 6 teams because there are some really bad teams in that conference (Baylor, Iowa State, Colorado, Nebraska) who teams like Kansas have been beating up on.

No, the winner should not automatically go to the BCS title game.
