Depends on what "when" means. Next year? No way. A few years down the road? Maybe. I doubt he will have the same velocity so he'll probably have to learn how to pitch instead of throw. If he can do that he should be fine.

I think they will take it very slow with Liriano as he must show that he is fully recovered before they give him a lot of work. The elbow is a very delicate area and most pitchers don't get their full velocity or control for 12-18 months after they're hurt. I believe he'll be only the #5 starter this year, but if his recovery continues as scheduled, 2009 will be his big year!

Francisco Liriano had Tommy John surgury final 12 months which takes an entire 12 months to recover from and it takes 2 years to regain finished potential. If he comes lower back in any respect this season, that's not till Aug at ultimate. pondering how plenty skill he has I doubt the Twins will danger added injury and in simple terms close him down till 2008.

No one can possibly answer that question until well into the 08 season or later. He could be a lefty Mark Prior or put up better numbers than Santana like he did in 06.

He only pitched a few months in the Majors. There is no saying how good he would have been before the surgery. But me guess is that he will not be as good as they need to change his mechanics.

The Twins wont rush him and take it slowly.Trust me they need Liriano and Santana healthy so they will prevent this from happening when he is ready to go.

Twenty years ago he may never have come back at a 100% but the procedures are so good now that he should come back with no problems. I hope he does because he is a good young pitcher.

I doubt he'll be as good. His slider will never be the same, that pitch harms your elbow and that was his injury. He may learn to be a better pitcher by mixing in more pitches, or he may never really recover his lost abilities.

He will probably be more dominant than teammate Johan Santana but it won't be this year. Look for him to be Garhnaire's #1 starter in the next couple of years
