Go to Yellow Pages and find you're local oven cleaning firm. They will come to you're home and do a fabulous job. Much better than all that mucky stuff above.

I can't use oven cleaner because it makes me sick. I get a bottle of that orange hand cleaner that mechanics keep around their shops to get oil off their hands. I spread it on thick, let it sit for a couple of hours, then wash it out. And it works just as good as oven cleaner. You can find it in Automotives at Walmart or other department stores.

Remove the metal shelves. Heat your oven to 200 degrees for thirty minutes. Turn it off. Spray on Easy Off. Let it sit for at least 20 minutes and wipe. The good news is that you can buy Easy Off in a scent now that doesn't smell awful.

Spray-on oven cleaner. Heavy gunk will need two applications. Wear rubber gloves. Don't breathe it in!

I have found that it is much easier if you do it regularly before the grease gets a chance to get baked on. It's a bit of a chore, but much easier this way (I'm not partial to hard work!)
