Does our society offer jobs for a 29 years old male who just got his BA degree in interior design?
my boyfriend, he is 25 years old now and he has attended to college for about a year. In order to get his degree in interior design, he will take 3-4 more years, so he will be 29 when he graduate.I am concerning about his future and my future because what I am thinking is, for a 29 years old "" male"" just got an degree which is ''' little too old""',, i means i want him to be success but I also hoping that he can be the one that I can rely on... does anyone has friends or family had the similar situation as my boyfriend?? I am happy to share with you ^-^

No, we don't allow anyone over 26 to have a job in the United States. He's way to old to be working.

Ok, sarcasm aside, 70 may be a bit old to look for a new career - to most of us in management (the people who hire entry level workers) though, 29 is still a "youngster".

I don't understand why you're worried about this. Yes - he will be 29 with a BA degree, whereas most will be 22 years old. But what's more important is what the reasons are. Is your bf 7 years behind because he is a slow learner? Or, did he decide to work for a while and start college later in life? Personally, I'd rather hire a 29 year old who has work experience (even if it's not interior design) than a 22 yr old kid who doesn't know what he wants to be when he grows up. Know what I mean?

Don't worry about age. Worry about being a good interior designer.

Age has nothing to do with it. If anything, he'll have the maturity that a 29 year old brings to the table.

What's more important is what kind of designer he is.

I went back to school and finished my degree just before my 50th birthday. My employer seems not to think I was too old.
