Please keep the appointment! The only one you hurt by not going is yourself.
See if a friend can go with you to the doctor, it will help you keep calm and get through it. I think it's the unknown that is worrying you the most and thinking that the doctor may yell at you for waiting so long to go back.It will be better in the long run to tough it out and go then to wait and have a relapse and have to have more treatments.I know cancer is a scarry thing, I don't know of anyone that isn't afraid of it.If it is the fear of pain during the exam take something like tylenol 30 min. before your appointment. I know they aren't fun. I have to see a GYN every 6 months so I know how you feel.Take a friend and go to the appointment you'll be glad you did when it's done and over.

Okay, your doctor isn't going to get angry with you.. A lot of people are afraid of doctors and dentists for the oddest reasons. I think in your life, you must've had strict situations. that when you do something wrong, it was held against you.
You've done nothing wrong to your health.. it just happens. Going to the doctor is not just a one time thing to do.. it's a lifestyle.. until you can accept that ... I dont' think you'll step foot to see your gynae.
Nothing wrong with seeing a gynae though.. they can't put you in prison if you didn't go. and it's every 6 months.. i dont think 3 months will kill you... but keep in mind.. you did have cervical cancer...and it's best to keep it checked up..
GOOD LUCK IN KEEPING THAT LIFESTYLE! ALL THE BEST!!! and dont worry.. she's not going to yell at you.. might say something odd like "you missed your last appointment thats not good!" so what.. big deal.. it's your body.. they're only there to treat it.

I had pre-cervical cancer cells when I was younger, and experienced the same fear. For me, it was because I was afraid they would find something there. That maybe, when they said they got it all, they really didn't. I blew off appointment after appointment for several years. I finally decided that I wanted to live more then I wanted to hide from any problems I might have. I went and guess what? I had spent years living in fear. Fear of nothing. It was all gone, even after all that time. I worried for nothing. You will probably find that your worried for nothing as well. Sweetheart, give yourself a chance. Don't live in a bubble for fear of what could happen. Chances are, the thing you fear most, will never happen again. Please don't wait much longer. You are wasting quality life time worrying. Smell the roses! Life is wonderful!

OK! Calm down, please.
My wife had cancer 6 years ago,and as part of her routine follow up, she has a blood test every 6 months.. The blood test recently done was off the wall. She had a cat scan last week, and the Dr saw "something which should be checked out." She saw her OB Monday, for an ultrasound. Her doctor told her, she doesn't see anything, maybe it was something the radiologist thought she saw and felt it should be checked out.
She had a colonoscope today, and I talked to the surgeon. He said everything was just fine. He admitted, that blood test sometimes is all over the place, but he couldn't let it go unchecked.
So now we have peace of mind. Your Dr's want you to have the same peace of mind.
So do I.
PS Wife is fine. Let us know that you're fine, too!

chances are very good you'll get a good report, but consider this, most women who die of cervical cancer do so because they chose not to get an annual pap screen, a few minutes at the doctors office is literally a life or death choice, choose life and keep your appointment!

relax...
think of it this way:
would you rather have the cancer spreading for every day you dont go to the doctor and have it be too late for treatment?
or would you rather go to your doctor so they can make sure you dont have cancer and if it comes back, keep fighting.
you can get over this... just think that you dont want the cancer to be more advanced, so you have to go in for a little check up.
be brave, you can do it!! youve fought CANCER once.
CANCER!!! you beat it. you can go to the person that helped you fight the cancer to make sure you dont have to put up another fight.
:)
