Are you having problems falling asleep or problems staying asleep? There could be many reason for both, stress, unresolved issues from the day, time change, change in recent routine, etc. Try developing a routine for yourself to get to sleep at night. Take a bath, read a book, cuddle up in the blankets, do whatever it takes to slow down and relax. Avoid drinking caffeine past dinnertime as that can effect your sleeping habits. One problem I had in the past was that I would do work from the office in bed or play with my kids on the bed. I had to learn to use my bed only for sleeping, otherwise the body gets confused. If you are waking up after falling asleep, it's probably from unresolved issues or worries. That isn't the only possiblity but a common one. Try resolving things before going to bed it possible. Otherwise, talk to you doctor. Some people do need aid sleeping or staying asleep. Best of luck to you!

Maybe you are stressed out or have a lot on your mind. Maybe before you lay down for the night you can light some candles, take a bath or something like that to relax. Just wind down and let the day go. That way you're not going right from stimulation to nothing, leaving your mind racing.

Sometimes if I can't fall asleep I count backwards from 100 and visualize the numbers as I count. This gets your mind off things, too.

You can also get a sleep relaxation cd. These usually have you flex and relax different muscles in your body. These cd's always work for me.
Good luck on getting some zzzzz's

A nurse once told me that a good way is to get out and away from your room and go have a read for about an hour and then go back to bed.

Well, there's one thing that always works for me. It's a natural supplement called Melatonin. It puts you gently to sleep and gives you the most fantastic dreams. You can find it in the vitamin section. Also, I always try to read a little bit before I go to sleep.

When I have trouble falling asleep I take a benadryl. It makes you just slightly sleepy but you can wake up fully if you need to. Also a cup of tea with honey and lemon helps too.

My husband takes Excedrin PM. I just stay up till I fall out...but then it's 3am. You could try walking after dinner, take a long hot bath and drink alittle 'sleepy time' tea. Best of luck.

I'd listen to very relaxing music or read a good book to calm down and prepare for resting.
