If you have had it done, if your insurance didn't cover how much did it cost? What was the recovery time? THANKS!

I am 27, medium build, 36 DDD. I want to start a family in the next year or so (no kids yet) and have had large breasts since I was a teen. Not easy to be 16 at 97 lbs. with 34 double D's!

How do your breasts change after pregnancy? I will attempt to breastfeed (I heard that it's not easy). I appreciate your input.

Insurance can cover it, it covered mine 100% when I had mine done Feb 2006 (38J to 38C).

Also, I have not had kids yet. I'm not worried about breastfeeding or my size staying bigger after children and breastfeeding. I had severe back pain and now its gone. I'd rather have had it done Feb 2006 instead of dealing with it until after I had kids.

Check out these two sites, very informative.

I also have a "surgery story" (four page word doc) if you want to hear or ask any questions, just contact me!

My suggestion is to wait until after having kids. Some women stay having big breasts after having kids, so why get the surgery now just to have to do it again? Plus sometimes when you have the surgery you won't be able to breastfeed. It will be harder, but I am glad you are willing to try. If you show that it is medically necessary to get it done, then most insurances will cover it, as it will be cheaper than some health problems for them! I understand wanting to get it done, I'm a 36 G and it's so hard to deal with! I plan on reducing after having kids!! Best of luck!

I'm not sure about costs and all, but I would say wait until after having kids. Pregnancy and breastfeeding change your breasts so much. You don't want to go through the pain of surgery only to have the results stripped away when you have kids. Besides, it'd probably be a nice confidence boost after all the changes to your body that kids bring.

I'm almost 19 and I just had a reduction done 3 months ago and it is the best thing that I have ever done for myself!

If you want to ask me ANY questions about insurance, whether to do it before having kids, the procedure...anything, feel free to email me:

Depending how the reduction is done you might not be able to breast feed anyway. Wait, and insurance usually pays if it's for a "medical" reason.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
