Name me one person in America that has been forced to be married? Are you going to be the first?

I didn't think so. So why are you worried about something that is never going to happen to you?

That would be like me worrying about catching an STD from Brittany Spears. It simply is not going to happen.

Good luck.

I'm not unhappy. And I'm married. It's not forced. Too many people go into marriage without actually thinking about the vows they take. and when it gets worse they bail. It's sad!you take a person as your wife or husband and that should be no matter what life kicks your way! But so many people just like the idea of it. not actually working to make life beautiful together! I think the people who are truly unhappy in marriage ..are too self absorbed and don't think of their significant other before their own needs!

Not everyone is unhappy. Like with everything there are good days and bad days. Marriage may not be for you or maybe you haven't found the right person who you want to spent it with. It is not forced either. Marriage comes from the heart.

HA, in the USA? I think America forces marriage less than any other continent. I guess there are places where it's common to have a marriage and a girlfriend at the same time....But marriage is "forced" everywhere. Stop being lame.

I have to say that I have had the exact opposite experience. I have seen nothing but great marriages, including my parents.

I was also against marriage, because I didn't see the point of the government getting involved, plus I didn't like churches.

But when i met my future wife, that all change. I wanted to show the world I love her and a wedding was a great way to do it.

Well people usually marry too young or marry for the wrong reasons. Maybe you'll find someone that will make you very happy and you'll want to get marry someday as well. Just be wise about it.

its a shame coz most people come from 1 parent households the other parent wasnt ther or wen there the relationship wasnt examplary to children so as we get into the marriage we tend to mimic ,live the way we see parents living if raised by 1 parent sometimes we cant relate to the other as we have never seen it!

YOUR STATEMENT SERVES TO PROVE THAT EITHER YOU DO NOT REALLY KNOW MANY PEOPLE IN THE USA OR ONLY THE NEGATIVE ONES WITH MARITAL PROBLEMS. THERE ARE PLENTY OF HAPPILY MARRIED PEOPLE IN THE USA AND MARRIAGE IS NOT FORCED HERE, AS IN SOME COUNTRIES THAT HAVE ARRANGED MARRIAGES. WE CHOOSE HERE TO EITHER DO IT OR NOT....FOR OURSELVES. SOME CHOOSE BADLY, SOME CHOOSE A GOOD FITTING MATE AND IT LASTS.

Well there is also couples that have gotten married and are very happy. Why not look at the bright side instead of looking at the dark side?
