First of all, the Red Sox wouldn't sign Bonds because they have Ortiz and he isn't going anywhere. It's tough to say that the Red Sox fans would accept Bonds because they accept Belichick. Both Boston and San Francisco had Belichick and Bonds respectively before the cheating scandals came out. If Belichick and Bonds came to their teams after everyone knew they cheated then those cities wouldn't accept them. They only accept them because the cities have grown up with them and they have been successful.
Anyway, the only city that will accept Bonds outside of SF will be Oakland. Only because it is still in the Bay Area so he will have almost all of his fan base.

Let's see -- New York cheered Keith Hernandez after getting back from a controlled substance suspensions. Yankee fans welcomed Jason Giambi back. San Francisco seemed to get along with Bonds.
I think it's fair to conclude that a great many sports figures get a warm reception in their home cities no matter what happened. It's probably not fair to single Boston out.

First of all I would over J.D Drew.
second we don't embrace cheating. Personally i think football sucks and the pats suck, but it is not about winning at any cost. We love to win but the sox and Bruins and Celts would never cheat. The pats on the other hand...

I'm not a Boston fan, but I doubt that they have space for Barry. Papi is way better than him as a DH and Ramirez is a more talented LF that dosen't use steroids. Jacoby Ellsbury also has alot of potentially. Signing Bonds would mean limited time for Ellsbury and no position for him to play in

Boston is not going to sign Bonds. Ortiz is already the DH and Youkilis is one of the best 1B in the AL. Even if they did sign him, Red Sox fans might be uneasy and slow to warm up to him at first.......until he started mashing home runs over that short porch in right field - at that point all would be well for Barry in Boston.

They'd be supid not to. So he's an ***. He's also a great offensive player, who has NEVER been CONVICTED of anything. suspicion with evidence is toally different from him being proven guilty. The only reason Bonds doesnt have a ring on his finger is because his team fell apart in the post season. Look it up.

Why not, he can’t hurt you that much besides, with manny, Ortiz, and him in the lineup, pitchers would literally sh it themselves on deciding who to pitch to. You can’t walk them all. If he decided to go cheap, sure, and chances are he will win a ring at it as well, and, retire, and have him day to shine in the hall of fame and all. Better him than a-rod. At least in all due respect, Barry did take his team to the World Series once. Back in 2002 when they lost to the angels. Compared to A-rod, the closest he got to even sniffing a world series was in 2004.

When did the bitter Indianapolis fans join forces with the bitter New York fans?
You can keep your Barry Bonds, A-Rod and Scott Boras.

As a Sox fan...NO! Thankfully Sox fans don't have to worry about that...Barry hates Boston and would never play there...the fans would never allow it either...Boston hates Barry right back!

No! We don't need him at all! If the Pats had anything to prove about"cheating", all I can say is 9 & 0. Unbeaten so far this year & I am looking forward to an unbeaten season. 16 & 0!
