I am going to take some online entry level courses in accounting at the community college next semester. I am currently working full time but I am in a field that is not suited to my personality and skills and I don't know what I can really do with a bachelors in pshychology.

If I can get an associates in Accounting, how useful would that be? I know in some states I could possibly get a CPA with a few accounting courses (although I realize it's difficult to get).

A CPA after a few accounting courses is probably not likely. The CPA exam is very difficult, and I believe many wiat until after a Bachelor's in accounting although I may be wrong. I understand what you are going through though. I started out in human services, and my Bachelor's is in Administration and my masters in business. However, I know what my goal in the long run is. Maybe you should start by sitting down and deciding what you do want to do or would be willing to do based on your personality and characteristics. After that jot down your interests too. Then wherever you had planned on taking the accounting courses talk to an academic advisor or counselor at the school. Make an appointment and its usually free.

My dads got a Bachelors in Psychology. He never used it. I think he just wanted to get an incite to peoples heads. hahah But why don't you go into social work? It takes a tough but loving person to do it. Though very rewarding, but also heart breaking at times.

I would strongly suggest that you first take the Myers-Briggs test to see what personality type you have, and then look into what jobs you would be suited for, based on your personality. Don't just get a job because it pays well or you think you should do it: that leads to misery.
