I was just wondering how big can an earthquake really be. Also anyone know any info on what the magnitude of the upcoming San Andreas Fault earthquake or "THE BIG ONE".

We will know when it happens.

It is very difficult to a) predict EQs and b) to predict the energy released.

An EQ can't really exceed 9.5 or 9.6 on the Richter. Rocks cannot store energy over that level.
