Great question!
I am not sure about the kindest things I've ever done, but I do live in Boston, which is very well-known for horrendous and rude drivers. I let people cut in front of me all the time and I never block the intersection.
I also gave someone a quarter to pay for a bathroom that had the old-fashioned pay-to-use locks on it when they didn't have any loose change.
Oh and one time at Fenway Park we left our fantastic 6th row seats early, so I gave our tickets to a guy and his son who were sitting way back in the stands, so they could see the players up close. The smiles alone made me happy!

I gave a man sitting off in a corner away from the crowds with a cup held up in the air seeking donations my last dollar. And at the time I didn't even know where my next meal or lodging would come. This was a strange foreign country where I ran out of money and when I put the dollar in his cup I noticed one of his eyes missing and all I could see was a hallow socket going into his brain. Even though it was my last dollar I felt he needed it worse than me. Later that day luck would come my way and I got food and a room for the night.

I donated a lot of time and money to a shelter during Katrina...5 solid days of time, and about 250 dollars of supplies donated...lots of tears and hugs and ear time to help these people process what had happened to them.
There is this lady at my church, I don't know her very well so she is more or less a stranger. I do know about her that her daughter is a new army wife and her husband just got stationed in Japan. I also knew it was going to be hard for her to lose her daughter and grandbaby to this relocation because she has depression. When I found out about her story, I was very moved because I lost my own mother, and when MY brother was in the army, and then chose his police academy out of state, he was separated from MY mom. And as a result, my mom never got to know her grandchildren as well as she had wanted to...and then she died in December of 2006.
So I tossed together some 20's and put a hundred dollars in an envelope and stuck it in the hymnal where she sits at church, marked "Japan travel fund." There was a bit of an uproar about it because someone found it and turned it in to the pastor, not knowing exactly who was supposed to get it so I had to kind of go to him privately and explain myself, and made him SWEAR that he wouldn't tell her who I was...so the money got into the correct hands, and the next week the pastor gave me a thank you note from her, even though she still didn't know it was me. It was kind of cool.
I was a member of a used book co-op once where I could use my own unwanted books as credit for half the purchase price on something else. Everyone had a card to keep track of their credit, and I had donated a huge box of books that put my credit up so high, I never would have used it all. One day there was this lady, no idea who she was, and I had heard her telling the shop owner that she was looking for books to take to a relative in prison, and saw that there were a lot of self-help, religious, get your life right kind of books in the pile. She said she couldn't do much, but hoped that he found something in the books that would get him thinking about his future. When it came time for me to pay, (I was in front of her) I made sure that the owner knew to use MY credit for HER books, discounting her purchase by half, even though she didn't have an account there.
I also routinely make a food bank donation or whatever when I am buying groceries, and if I get a little balloon or whatever to help them cover the wall with, I give it to the kid behind me to sign it...that way it's from both of us.

One day me and a couple of good friends was at this park where they were giving free food and a live band was playing and they had lots of great games and activities. I seen an elderly man with unfortunately one leg, and he was holding onto the rail on the sidewalk as he hopped down the walkway. I went up to him and asked him if he needed any help, he replied, '' Yes please I just was mugged and the damn bastard took my damn crutch too''! I told him me and my friends would of help look for his wallet and crutch. But I told him until then he can put on these roller skates so he get where he needs to faster. I guess he saw the person who mugged him with his belongings because I seen him skating fast down a hill, then I heard a lot of noise like a crash or something.

I helped a 3 year old boy find his teenage sister who forgot about him in the mall. But I did lecture her...so I don't know if that's helping or not...helping the parents hopefully....
I held a woman's newborn while she put groceries into her car.
I gave $2 to a lady in front of me in line at wal mart so she could get chocolate bars that her grandchildren wanted.
I love helping people with children! Children are my weaknesses.
I gave a tampon to a woman in the next stall when she said "this is not happening, not now! it's not suppose to be here for 3 more days!!"

walking back from the hospital with a busted rib cage after rapping my car around a tree the day before,in the winter with ice & snow all over the roadways,I came across an elderly woman puffing away out of breath.she didn't look good,so I asked her whats wrong she told me & showed me her pile of letters/mail that had to go asp quickly to the post office or at least to a shop down the road whom would bring it to the p.o. for her.her property tax payment & other important stuff had to be sent in.I'd already walked 3 miles & was hurting but I took her stuff directly to the p.o. got a receipt staggered back to her mail box, left the receipt in it,went home all in all,I walked 10 miles total with busted ribs.later on I ended up close freinds with her for 7 years till she passed away at age 85.she was the best person I've ever known.

A very beautiful woman ( very drunk) knocked on my barracks room door insisiting she was at the right place. It was -40 outside and 2:30 AM. Taxi services were closed up and the snowstorm was getting worse. She looked freezing and had that helpless look of lost-in-space wondering how far her planetery system was away from here. Reluctantly I let her inside, against my better judgment she insisted on disrobing to warm herself...3 children later we recently celebrated 22 years together.

A woman traveled a long distance to attend an art show only to be turned away at the door. the first day was for members only.
she pleaded with the guard that she had an early flight back and could not attend the next day. As a member, I was entitled to a guest so I invited her in and got her a ticket.
