No one wants to admit that they are racist in any way. However, we all have our own life experience to draw on. Yes there are times when we all overgeneralize about a population. There are times when even the most reasonable person gets carried away. The internet hides you from the spot light. You can say things about people that would probably get your teeth handed to you if you did it in person. Everyone can be racist, sexist or otherwise rude and insensitive. It is in our nature. That doesn't make people bad or good. It makes them people.
Now, if a person goes out of their way to make a racists remark, then they are truly out of line and need to be brought back to reality. You can think what ever you want.
I could give you the whole conflict sociology theory explanation if you really want it. But the short version is that as long as there are different people, there will be tension because of those differences. We may be the melting pot, but the process is still under way.

In a nation of 300 million, 99% not-racist is still 3 million racists. That might be part of it. Even a lunatic fringe can make some noise.
There's also an issue of perception. You may see racism where none is intended, or even where none exists, if you have convinced yourself that there is no other explanation for something.
For instance, in the immigration section, there are persistent and largely false acusations of racism. Some doubtless come from disengenuous Aztlan types who are racists, themselves, and know full well what they're doing. But, many probably come from people who can't accept that there are rational reasons for disagreeing with them - so they ascribe irrational reasons.
It comes from an inability to see another point of view - lack of the 'open mindedness' that, ironically, those who resort to such ad hominem attacks often pride themselves on.

Because there is really no set definition of exactly what racism is, and there will never be one.
Since racism is "in the eye of the beholder", one persons innocent (to them) remark or action could be racism to another.
Now, I'm not going to say that acts of blatant racism don't happen anymore, but I believe that they are not a frequent as they once were.

When claims of "racism" has been used over and over and over again simply as an excuse to stop free speech, it becomes a sheer lame excuse. Only the true, genuine, brave and courageous accuser would dare face one-to-one with the claimer in front of the TV. Brave heros confront their enemies face-to-face; cowards beat their drums in groups.

people in recent times are afraid to renowned racism in themselves. There are no stages or stages to racism as there are no stages of stages to a lie. working example, considered one of my buddy's mom swears she isn't racist. She in simple terms does not choose for her daughter dating Mexican, Asian or Black adult adult males. A kinfolk member of mine does not have faith he's racist even although he refuses to hire white men and girls people at his employer. i could wisely positioned them the two interior the class, yet they won't settle for it by using fact they suspect all racists are those evil characters who choose for to kill and injury those of the different race. That in simple terms isn't so those days. Racism has stronger into some thing extra diffused. regardless of if, it continues to be racism.

because people lie. For example the people who are against immigration say they are not racist, they just want to follow the law.
However, if you look at some of the questions in the "immigration" forum, you know (despite denials) that racism is alive and well in America. : (

Just because someone says they aren't racist doesn't mean they aren't. In fact, people who keep telling you they aren't racist are more likely to be racist.
