Asrock motherboards are good but cheap.
http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=
Asrock is a subsidiary of ASUS, a top quality motherboard maker that also supplies HP.

Video cards:
Cheap= ATI HD2400 Pro or Geforce 8400GS
Better= ATI HD 2600XT or Geforce 8600GT

Consider a Seagate hard drive. It has 5 years warranty from the factory. Seagate has excellent warranty support. You could directly get warranty assistance in their website and they do respond and act quickly.
