Getting ready fitness wise is just as important as skills. A fit player can keep up with a show boater easily, right?
So you can deke one player- your finished after that if your outta shape.
Although playing in 0 degrees Fahrenheit sounds like fun (i mean it, I'd love to) even just going in the garage or something and juggling around can help ball control, touch, etc. If your sitting on the couch watching TV, have a ball at your feet rolling it around. Again, improving your touch.
To get your stomach shape the way you want it, I advise to do sit-ups, as that can really help make you fit. Maybe take advantage of a 1/2 special at a gym, using a treadmile. Everything helps in its own way.
Good luck in your spring season.

best thing to do is not to burn yourself up before the spring season starts. training is good. but offseason is also the time for you to relax your muscle. if you play indoor league in winter, you don't need to do much on conditioning. you can do slow but long joggling. indoor soccer should prepare you for sprinting and agility training already. indoor soccer requires lots of personal skills. you'll get good practices there. don't burn out before the spring season starts.....if you work too much, your muscle will be tired and easy to get injured.

I coach both youngers and high school players in the U.S. and I alwys suggest to them playing indoor footy in the off-season. The game is much faster and the pitch is tighter so your passing and ball control skills become quicker and you learn to play in less space. The game is quicker and that helps so much with cardio training. I also suggest taking the off season winter months to focus on strength training in the gym. Its also very important to run in the off season to keep up your stamina. Nothing worse then showing up to your tryouts next season out of shape and short of breath. Keep streaching to maintain your flexibility, especially while doing weight training.
Good Luck.
