Tell me, how does a big money boom with thousand of donations from thousands of people tell you ges not going to win? By the way, just to give you perspective, the amazing thing is that teach person donated from about $25-$200... and STILL made that much money. Why woud you pick a candidate who will supposedly "win" over someone with a better policy?

all the pundits like to say he wont win but don't cover why, there are a few reasons that 3rd party or independents don't win. one of the biggest is that most states have a winner take all electoral college. it should represent all the voters if one candidate wins 55 % one 35 and the 3rd 10% they should get there share of the support in the electoral college it has been rigged by the 2 partys to keep it a 2 party system. then there is the thing about people will only vote for who others will vote for but that is a pyscological thing that still leaves me wondering about the american voter.

but he has a better chance than most 3rd party canidates , im voting for him and wish you all would to. why back 2 failed partys with the same failed policys. to me it feels like we are just posponing the colapes of those 2 partys . why people dont want to have a working goverment just amazes me

1. He will not win the Republican nomination - no matter where the money is coming from registered Republicans want nothing to do with him - his is regularly polling 1-3% among those who will determine the nomination.
2. He is the same guy with the same platform that recieved 0.5% of the vote in 1988. The American people have heard it all before and soundly rejected it.
3. Extreme politics such as that being practiced by Paul often has this result - a fanatical following among a small group but contempt from the rest of the electorate. His ability to pull in money simply reflects that - it does not mean it will become votes.

Ron Paul has a very good shot at it. The media follows the money and as he keeps growing throughout the primaries it will come his way.

And for people who say he is not a Republican you must have never taken polysci 101. He is the very embodiment of true conservatism. Don't mix that up with neo-conservatism, a movement shaped by Christian extremism aimed at hating anything not Christian only to be funded and lubricated by the war machine. Neo-conservatives who are the other candidates are Christianity's version of Jihads. They are shameful people who court big business and deals that make them better off. They represent the true abuse of the power structure in society.

Ron Paul is the real deal.

I feel the same way only with Edwards. Until we stop corporations from giving money to candidates we will never see a third or fourth candidate or party. Corporations are not people and should not take part in people elections.

Hate to rain on everybodies parade... but He has not raised more money that the other candidates, he raised more money in one day than any republican, he is still well behind the leaders in total amount. I like Ron Paul, I'd vote for him if he was put on the ticket, but its not likely to happen, people fear change, especially change that takes away things they consider a "right".

Anyone who says that Ron Paul is not going to win is crazy. He raised over 4 million last night! And its still going up! Have any of you seen all of the YouTube videos he has? And now he is getting the attention of the news? He is definitely going to at least be remembered

Ron Paul does not have the Republican base support. It will be interesting to see how Ron Paul campaign handles his new found campaign donation wealth as well as his ties to the KKK. He'll never win. He sounds to much like a nervous used car salesman when speaks.

Sometime it is not about who you want to win but it is more important that you don't want someone else to win. So you cast your vote for a popular canditate over someone who is your pesonal choice, because your personal choice might be just a spoiler, allowing a really bad canditate to win.

Because he's a libertarian, not a republican. His policies are opposed by 99% of repubs. This interest in coming from young people who don't really understand the issues, and from internet folks who don't understand much at all.

His ideas were debated 100 years ago and were defeated then. Young people, and the lunatic fringe, is always attracted to anything "different," whether John Anderson in 1980 or Ross Perot in 1992. Their ideas have little traction with serious people.

Ron Paul is running on the Republican ticket. Republicans are idiots. They won't vote for him because they are idiots. Ron Paul will raise enough money to switch to Independent, which will go down in political history as the coolest move ever. Using the Republican party as a springboard.

Its going to be between Paul and Obama, and Republican Nominee, probably some Narc like Romney.. Hillary is toast. She's Bush Lite with a brain and her parsing is getting to be insulting.
