No. A meal must be balanced, and consist of a protein, such as meat, fish or eggs, a veggie, potato or pasta, whole grain bread, and a drink. Dessert is optional, but the best thing to follow a meal is fruit, at least from a health standpoint. A one-food item such as a can of green beans is totally unbalanced as a meal.

nope, you need some B vitamins to prevent anemia. What are you, anorexic?

Once upon a time, I got really skinny on veg soup, mashed potatoes, green beans and fruit. It was all I wanted and I craved grapes, grapefuit, mashed potatoes, plums, etc. My husband, mother, everyone told me I was anorexic. I was anemic and feeding my body. Truth was, I ate all the damned time. It was just fruit, mashed potatoes and veg soup with crackers.

If you're craving green beans, they're high in vit. A. Maybe your body needs it, but it's not well-rounded. Eat some fruits, carrots, root plants like cabbage, broccoli, kale and get some other vitamins.

It sounds like the meal of a bachelor or single girl. I have eaten plenty of meals like that...when I was single and didn't feel like cooking. I wouldn't recommend it for the long term, but once in a while...you just eat to fill the void. Believe me...no matter how much preaching you're getting from some people about this...NO one here eats 3 balanced meals a day, every day.

Yes, it does for me. Sometimes I just want to eat a can of green beans. Nothing wrong with that.

I say yes! Just make it a light lunch,or snack time. My friend lost 50lbs. eating green beans for two of her meals a day. She lost way too much weight!

Maybe as a lunch but you need so many servings of each food group, so if you filled out breakfast and supper with the rest it might be okay but I would never eat it just for supper because you would probably end up with a lot of acid in the morning, and breakfast should be good meal too because your body hasnt eaten for how many hours.

no it doesn't have everything that body needs to work properly. A good meal has alittle of everything. That just counts as something you ate fast because of hunger
