People risk their lives everyday to come to the USA so there must be something going right.

Why are you so concerned about America? I am sure you never have anything to do with things that come out of America, Like movies, Fashion, Computer Tech, Medication advances. The light bulb, The phone, electricity.

Just hand over all of those things and you can be rid of America

AJ you are probably some kid who is in this foreign internet hype that the US is no good and knows nothing. we have a our problems as other nations do, which are becoming major due to power hungry politicians in government, that are destroying our education, and the media thinks paris hilton/lindsey lohan/ other celebrities are more important than bush setting a match to the constitution. people will eventually wake up to this and set it straight or not and war will break out with those who are already awake. And dont forget the US is huge in the global economy, if we stopped and walked away the rest of the world most likely would suffer, from the money they make off this country with their products/services/lending money to our corrupt government/etc.

America is still the shining city on a hill. Everybody still tries desperately to get into this country. You don't find people leaving this country in droves. You find them wanting to come here in droves.

Because anyone with a brain and a work ethic can make it... and making it in America means you're living better than 90% of people worldwide! Who wouldn't want that?

It is just OK. There is a lot of zealotry, xenophobia, nationalism and arrogance infiltratng this nation. There is a lot of strange ideology growing here in terms of politics. It's as if the country is dividing because you have to be on one side or the other. There is hardly any intellectual discourse here, it's all spiteful division. I like the energy that America has but it is all funnelled in the wrong direction.

I do live in America and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If YOU think it's not that good of a country, then you are more than welcome to LEAVE. No one will miss you.

I don't really want to, but it's better than a lot of other places. I'm content here for the time being.

Because I was born here.

And I hate moving. All the packing and unpacking and the rental vans... it really sucks.
