ok, so I'm 38 wks, as of last week dialated to 1, been taking red raspberry tea leaf tablets (2 once a day), inserting 2 even primrose cap every night, and trying to walk 2 miles a day (hard b/c I have horrible sciatica.) Anyways, will any of this help? Did it help y'all? I don't want to go overdue!!!! did with my first, went early with second, butit was twins, then had my 3rd dd at 37 wks, but dr broke my water b/c I was dialated to 4, so he went ahead. This time I'm only a 1 (as of last week.) What else can I do? My husband has to go out of town for work on my due date and he'll be gone for 2 wks, so I'd like him to be around for the birth and possibly the first few days, that's why I'm trying to make sure I have her on time or possibly a few days or a week early. Please don't tell me, to be patient, I've been patient through an absolute miserable pregnancy this far. Tell me what y'all did or if this will help me

There is no fool proof method of inducing your own labor. If you won't have anyone to help you while your husband is out of town, talk to your doctor about a scheduled induction. It is a much better and healthier option for you than having to go it alone. Good luck.

Oh hun I so have sympathy for you...I know about sciatica thats for sure...by the end of my first pregnancy between the swelling of pre-eclampsia and sciatica I literally was unable to walk or even fit shoes over my feet!
I won't say be patient I promise I won't since I'm in the same boat....38.4 weeks and dialated to a 3 for the past month...sex, laundry, playing with my 3 yr old...Nothing has triggered labor just some miserable braxton hick contractions. Do you have a breast pump available? I think thats about your only option left to maybe help things along...Nipple stimulation, by breast pump or by hand, will help if your body is on the verge of labor since it releases oxytocin into the bloodstream. Oxytocin is the same hormone that triggers labor contractions.
Good luck in the next few days hun...Lucky for me my doctor has agreed to do a c-section this friday for me just becuase I haven't slept in about 2 weeks from my pain level...Even ambien isn't enough to allow me to sleep through the pain anymore.

Sounds like me. I am so bored stiff with pregnancy it's implausible . I am additionally 38 weeks. I bet all we have now left to do is wait.. Which sucks. My general practitioner did say she might set off me this weekend if I used to be dilated to a a million however I am now not so I must wait an extra week. My lungs are killing me (additionally a small man or woman) and I cant sleep. I heard that inducing wont rather paintings till the little one is capable. So yeah :( well good fortune.

i did the rasberry leaf & evening primrose oil & the at-home fun stuff to try to bring on labor when I was pregnant with my first & they didn't work :( I was induced when I was 7 days late.
But I hope it works for you.

just call your doc and tell him your hubby will be out of town....ask him to induce you.....but better yet, you need to get that hubby of yours to sort out his priorities because family comes before work...always!!!
