You have to be insane to think that as vast as the Universe is that there is no life other than us in it. The odds are that there is life, maybe not so different from us or so alien that it would scare the bejeeis out of us if we saw it. It's out there we just have not explored far enough yet. Space exploration of that magnitude is way beyond our meager intelligence at this time, and besides the nearest possible habital planet to ours is in the Alpha Centuri system which is 8 light-years away from us. It would take 16 years to get their and back. Thats traveling at the speed of light-thats 286,000 feet per second. Think about it.
If we do have visitors from other worlds, they must have some way of bending time and space. Only way it would be able for them to travel here from out there.

I totally agree. There is life out there somewhere. The Universe is not empty & created just for us as a lot of religions would have you believe. That's Human arrogance & self-importance. I hear on several of these shows that speculate about life on other worlds, that they are looking for planets with life like us. I find hard to believe that life evolved to look like us on other worlds. The odds of that are beyond astronomical.

Most scientists are quite convinced (as am I) that life of some kind exists in the universe. We just haven't found it yet.
But usually when people talk about "aliens" they mean intelligent creatures piloting flying saucers, abducting people, tipping over cows, and making complex crop circles during the night. Most scientists don't believe that (neither do I).

Of course they must do, the universe is mind-numbingly huge! The thing that gets me, it's entirely possible that at THIS VERY INSTANT (as I type this or as you read it), somewhere out there, an alien is making love to his wife, or arguing with his neighbour, or getting blind drunk. In fact the odds are that, right now, there's an awesome massive battle taking place, with titanic spaceships and far-out weaponry. Right now! For real! It's possible...

there is an equation known by means of fact the Drake Equation that could compute the possibilities of a planet having smart existence able to verbal replace interior the Milky way Galaxy. N = R* × fp × ne × fl × fi × fc ×L wherein: N is the form of civilizations interior the Milky way which we must be waiting to chat with. R* is the user-friendly fee of huge call formation interior the galaxy. fp is the fraction of those stars that have planets. ne is the user-friendly form of planets that could help existence in keeping with vast call. fl is the is the fraction of planets that bypass directly to assist existence. fi is the fraction of people who bypass directly to assist smart existence. fc is the fraction of those civilizations that launch indicators that sign to their being there into area. L is the size of time they launch those indicators into area. we do not extremely understand those values, yet we are able to estimate them. listed under are the values used by way of Drake and his colleagues. R* = 10/year fp = 50% ne = 2 fl = a hundred% fi = a million% fc = a million% L = 10,000 years Which, as quickly as we plug those in, supplies: 10 × 0.5 × 2 × a million × 0.01 × 0.01 × 10,000 = 10 civilizations word that those are merely estimates, and the equation is merely a wager.

Your point is a reasonable one. I would add though, that as vast as space is, it is highly unlikely that aliens and humans would ever encounter each other.

Sure. What would be the odds that out of all the planets in all the solar systems (etc.) ours would be the only inhabited one?
