You need to start reading the medical or science journals that contain the most recent research on the subject. The perception that it is safer than alcohol or tobacco is a fallacy. You just hear more about them because they are legal. The dependency on "just say no" and other short PR blurbs by the government when dealing with the topic of MJ is far short of educating the public about the negative effects of its long term use. Significant memory loss, neural damage, increased tendency towards psychosis, and all of the damagign and carcinogenic compounds found in cigarette smoke (minus the nicotine) are all real reasons to avoid its use. Many of the major medical and scientific journals are available online. Go to google academic and look them up and read for yourself what the real problems are. The majority of the people you will encounter here on YA are not really qualified to respond to your question with anything other than their own opinion.

I think it should be illegal.

Don't get me wrong - even though I don't smoke pot, I don't believe that people who smoke it are bad people because I know several good people who do it. However, I noticed it makes people lazy and dependent on the drug. Several of my friends rely way too much on the drug for a good time to the point where they basically don't do anything else for fun at night.

The fact is, that it hasn't been proven to be healthy. It contains twice as many carcinogens as cigarettes, and causes people to act irresponsibly - much like alcohol.

because of the propaganda that it "makes you so evil you kill everyone and rape people" it doesn't make any sense. It's much safer for you than alcohol, and alcohol is still legal.
