...I know a good question or a good answer when I see one. The problem is that there are too few good questions or answers on this board anymore. People are trying to one-up each other by seeing who can be more insulting or hateful than the other. Some write anything that comes to mind, whether it's on topic or not, just to further their point gaming agendas. They whine when they get reported. I know there are good intelligent people that visit this board but they don't hang around very long after making a few posts and having to bear the insults of those that are too ignorant to put up a good argument with those they disagree with. I'm not blaming anyone in particular, people from all parties are guilty and I've been guilty of making some smart-*** remarks myself. But we have a whole year ahead of us before the elections of 2008. Can't we come up with something better than insults, mis-information, outright lies and weak accusations?

no, you don't, but....I DO"! Just kidding, and I have to agree with you for the most part. Too many people are on here not to pose a question, but to promote an agenda. This is human nature, but, it is human nature at it's worst, just like all politics. It is only when men are allowed and expected to live their own lives and make their own decisions that good men can come together. Then, bringing their collective wisdom, gained from the successes and failures of all those individual lives, we can have productive, meaningful discussions. Most of the things I read on here lead me to think that the people asking or answering have already fallen for the ploy politicians of all parties are relying on, divide and conquer. Strangely enough it seems that the only thing we are united in is this enormous group of US, and the THEM's are counting on that being the only thing we come together on. I say go ahead, make your smart*** remarks, we all do occasionally. Then, when you have that out of your system, lets get together and discuss this stuff with all the principles, moral, character, and intelligence we can bring to bear on subjects at hand!

I have seen many good answers to good questions on this board. When I visit this site I look at the question and decide if I have the knowledge to post an answer. I have had several that were rated the best. General comments to questions are fine but if the person asking the question really wants a good answer we should only answer those for which we can provide quality input. We should not answer any question just to answer the question. Information we post should not include insults and mis-information. Any answers posted should be an honest effort and the content should be accurate. This can be from personal experience or knowledge about the topic posted. Many of the answers I provide are a result of my personal experiences.

You are so correct. I get sick and tired of seeing the same lame questions ask over and over. And some of the people asking questions, I swear, have to be sitting on a booster chair, because they can't be over three. Sometimes I think you need to take an IQ and physiological test, to even be given a user name.

Some people use this forum as a way to criticize Bush, his administration, Christians..everything right of center and yes, .....some criticize the left in completely inappropriate ways.

And now, some of the best conservative poster have been suspended, most are my contacts and I have read every question and found nothing remotely deserving of suspension.

Until the past few weeks, I really enjoyed my year plus on YA....I have made several "friends" and learned a lot in the process.

YA has to get it's act together and do something about the thin-skinned trolls....they could screw up a soap sandwich!

I find it most interesting when, rather than taking sides or even promoting an agenda, someone merely states the facts and refutes the questioner's false premise - and gets a bunch of thumbs down - apparently because the answer doesn't reinforce the questioner's conclusion or the preconceived conclusions of the other answerer's.
Not really much of a debate when one already has his or her mind set in concrete - and to hell with any opposing facts, even if they are valid and verifiable.
It's the same old adage - if you don't like the message, shoot the messenger.

Kudos to lilliput. When someone who is a top contributor and been here quite a while can be taken out simply because someone didn't like her opinion it shows a massive flaw in how YA works.

You can no longer accept fans, contacts or make your Q&A visible for fear of being reported multiple times just for the purpose of getting you suspended. I watched the old news boards go down because of trolls...I guess it's true that those who don't learn from their mistakes are destined to repeat them.

Sad, very sad.

All logic is lost when there are personal attacks and it seems that critical minds are scoffed at. I tire easily of senseless rhetoric. But I have learned one thing - the enemy is on this board pandering their propaganda, and that is worth fighting against.

Of coarse not; that wouldn't be modern politics as usual. Politics in today's world is insulting & cut-throat and so, Yahoo answers follows the lead.
