WE DON"T I am guessing thought that since the Pharmaceutical companies have such strong lobbyists in DC with so much money to lobby, I would think they are made here but ya know....really how would we know that the generic isn't made there too? Ya I have to find a way to find this out because I take quite a few meds. myself.

This question has really got me freaked out since all this stuff about lead and stuff coming from China and such.

That's an interesting question. I just got done volunteering at a flu shot clinic this morning and one of the folks there asked where the flu shot medicine was coming from. Of course the big joke was that it was made in China-Not afraid of a little lead are you? The nurse assured this person that the medicine was made in the US. I guess they have up-ed the amount they produce because of shortages in the past.
I don't think I've heard of any prescription medicine sold here being produced outside of the country, but I could be wrong. If you want to be sure ask your pharmacist.

If you do careful checking, u will see that almost ALL DRUGS SOLD in the USA are made right here! We have VERY high drug standards and they go through a lot of testing to be used in a pharmaceutical company, but there are co. out there who are just after the good old dollar and sneak in what they want!!

I'd be much more concerned about the vitamins and other dietary supplements that ARE NOT approved by the FDA! I had a pharmacist tell me that he would give it to his dog because they are not monitored right, and one capsule can have the right amount of something, while another has 0, and yet another has WAY TOO MUCH.
I know it is hard to believe, but there are areas of our government that we can still trust!!

I think its safe to say they arent. No one would allow the import of Chinese medications. While in China through you have to be VERY careful, you may think you are buying tylenol or some "familiar" medication but 99% are "knock offs" and you dont know what is in them - especially people with allergies to things like coedine - which would be me. IF traveling to an Asian country ALWAYS load up on "common medications" and vitamins before going -

Added: Canada has very high standards and laws around drugs, in fact you have more than few in the USA that Canada hasnt approved - and here I am and Rita and Lizzy Tish, and quite a few other Cdns alive and kicking here who obviously buy their prescriptions in Canada.

Just make sure that websites selling them ARE Canadian, there are bus tours of USA seniors who come to Canada to stock up on their prescriptions

justme is NOT kidding about the Vicks vaporub used internally. This is a European practise...at least my ex-husband's Dutch mother used to do this...take about a third of a teaspoon of it and roll it in sugar and make her kids eat it. I thought it was very gross when I first heard it. But no worse than the tablespoon of olive oil I am eating twice a day because Phil says it will moisturize my skin from the inside (and do wonders to clear up plaque in my arteries as an incidental side effect).

If our 'wonderful' govt. does not want us buying meds (I don't like the word 'drugs') from Canada - why do you think that some come from China? No I think that they are all made right here in the USA and for that we pay an arm and a leg for the privilege. We should not complain however, for this is one of the very few products actually still made in the USA! I should add that one med. I take is made in Ireland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cool down.i think of the yank importers are held in charge for this too.The impoter elect decrease priced cost, and don't care high quality.you're able to be responsive to that diverse cost makes a decision diverse high quality.lots of our shoppers concentration on the prevalent very lots, and the fee from China isn't decrease priced, and that they might look into our production facility often. The chinese language factories are in charge.however the importers from united statesa. do have super accountability in this imparting chain the place they could understand their negative aspects in buying decrease priced products.

The recent warnings concerning medications from China pertained to ordering off the internet...not prescriptions filled in US pharmacies.

I deal with a small pharmacy and asked the druggist. I graduated with sister and his dad was our vice-principal, so I have some confidence in him.
So, I'm pretty sure that I'm getting what I am supposed to.

But it is a vital thing in our present world to question doctors, mechanics, whomever to make sure that we understand what we are getting.

The darn labels on prescribed meds. don't tell you where the pills were made anyway.
The ingredients come from all over & are check by gnomes at the pill factory & blended & color added so they look cute. Then bottled & shipped by horse drawn buggies to your local drug pusher. He (or she) sneaks those little devils into pill containers & charges you your first born to get them.
Yup! The Chinese are sneakin' all sorts of little buggers into this country, and would you believe they are even commin' to live here too. How dare they.
