Did you think the behavior was "rude" or just your husband? If it wasn't rude to you than it was probably best to just leave it alone. If you thought it was rude than maybe it would've been best to approach the co-worker in a different less confrontational manner. Simply stated, your home is out of my way and you'll have to find another person to carpool with-sorry... Or it's distracting to my driving when you chat on your cell phone. I guess it's sorta rude to point at someone else and call them rude as well.. Not everyone has the same manners. good luck having a happy co-worker relationship....

well your husband is probably right. When I didnt hve transport I used to get rides sometimes..(I did not like to but they insisted) cos the payment for a ride is pretty much that you have to make smalltalk. If its a couple giving you a ride and they just talk among themselves you are sposed to just shut up and listen. So its kinda rude her talking on her cellphone. I would not have told her that tho I just would have said that its just too far out of your way what with gas money and your busy life.

It depends...

If she was just chit-chatting, then yeah she was rude.

But...

Was it an in-coming call about a sick loved or something else that required immediate attention? Or an outgoing call about something just as urgent?

Did she say anything before she got on the phone, like "I'm sorry but I really need to place this call"?

Were you and your husband in the front seats talking to each other only and not her, before she made the call? Or the call came in?

Then she didn't handle the situation properly, but I might understand why talked on the phone.

Now do YOU think its rude or do's your HUSBAND think it rude.I believe, me myself and I that yes it is rude, unless the call was made to her, and she just picket up. If she made the call then it would be.

I can understand why she would be mad.I mean you could have made it more friendly. Going up to some one and full on saying there rude is a bit harsh . You simply could have said " Next time we give you a ride plz dont talk on your phone, we dont like it, and its distracting."

talking on the phone in a public subway or bus is bad manners. it would be very rude for her to ask you for a ride and talk on her cell phone all the way.

Sometimes we have to choose our words carefully. In this case, don't worry about it. She was rude and I hope you told her why she was rude, but not angrily.

She is allowed to be angry with you. Don't worry about it. Don't gossip about it. Drop it. If she chooses to carry a grudge because someone spoke the truth to her, so be it. Not all co-workers will be your friend.

I think it was rude of her as well & obviously she has no manners either. If she's mad at you for saying so, maybe she should try riding with someone else.

well I would have probably stated it differently by saying you made everyone in the car uncomfortable by being on the phone. No one wants to hear your conversation. It's only a short 20 minutes to your home so if you want to keep riding with us then please don't use the phone.

i think its rude to say someone else is rude. you could've been more polite and just forgiven her, and said next time you want a ride, i think you shouldnt talk on the phone, because its distracting, and makes me uncomfortalbe.
