The equation is y=0x+5 and the point is (-2,4) They want me to find the distance from point to line but i am not sure how to. I could care less about the answer I just want to know how to get it

yeah i know those are the same thing but i just put it like that so i know the slope is zero

Are you sure you got the equation right?

y = 0x + 5
is just
y = 5

For a horizontal line the distance from the point to the line is the just difference in the y coordinates.

distance = 5 - 4 = 1
