That is good information, but how can you tell where the beef you purchase in the grocery store comes from? Will the butcher know?

I haven't eaten at any fast food restaurant since the mid-1970's. My (then) teen age kids had friends who worked in a couple and they used to sit around and laugh about what they did to the food.....
I don't eat anywhere if young people and teenagers are in charge unless I personally can see the entire kitchen and serving area....this eliminates many of the chains, too.
As for beef, I buy beef from only 3 places; from an Amish market about 20 miles from me where they raise their own beef and butcher it...also buy my eggs, pork and chicken there.
I buy from Wegman's - organic only....and from Whole Foods....
I pay more per pound but know what I'm getting, know it's fresh and prepared in an ultra-sanitary place under strict supervision and testing.
I don't buy any imported food products except quality olive oil from Italy or Spain, wines, dried pasta.
I eat fresh, organic vegetables that I have cleaned myself. Whatever is in season... Use minimal processed food - mostly tomato products from Muir Glenn - which is organic.
So, I have no problems with beef or much of anything else.

I have never heard such rubbish as this, where did you get your facts from? some some magazine that deals with fairy stories no doubt? Since when has Mc Donald's used beef? more to the point when has Mc Donald's used meat? if you think that the concoction of fat, emulsifiers, protein substitutes colourants and sawdust that they put between bread rolls can be misconstrued as meat then you are for the funny farm, Don't believe what Mc Donald's say about importing beef it is just a cunning ploy to make you think that you are consuming meat in their burgers. relax, don't worry, they will never use beef, they might, however, use dead creatures from a zoo, like dead hippo or giraffe.

Never eat at McD's. And I buy my meat from a local "butcher" and he cuts the meat in front of me! Ground beef is put though a stainless steel grinder which I am assured has never seen a piece of pork on its grinding blades! (I believe him). My steaks are cut exactly the way I want them, and everything is packaged in nice clean white paper ready for the freezer (or not), and can easily be written on - for the contents and the date purchased! I do not like to buy anything that is packed in Styrofoam and plastic wrap, nor do I like fruits and veggies packed in plastic either!
I think that if the govt. is going to continue to buy beef from S. America then S.A. should be made to adhere to the same
rules for producing beef as the American farmers - - - otherwise we just will not buy from South America.

Last time I checked, anyone could take cattle to a slaughter house & the house would buy it-no questions asked. Not enough inspectors to go around & tainted beef does slip by quite often.
Many a steer has had a gut full of worms etc. & has passed inspection.
Those feed lots are crammed with cattle up to their hocks in mud, run up a chute, slammed & locked in a tight stall with their head stickin' out in front, head is jerked up, & zip it falls off. The headless cow is jerked up by it's feet & the skinning & guttin' process begins.
Quite a sight to see. I used to raise beef cattle & take them to the slaughter house.

Mickey Dees have been on my boycott list since the advent of yogurt and the slaughter of millions of those poor soy creatures. Soy burgers will gag a maggot and decimate the soy population.

This is the greedy corporate world again. And will certainly pass it on. And, tell our children and grandchildren, why should they be subjected to eating pesticides. Causing caners and all sorts of dreadful things.
