Don't worry...your only 12. But, that is never too early to start following your dreams. Find out about local auditions and community theaters. To be on Broadway is a big honor. They only want the best...So, you need a great resume. WHEN, you make it on Broadway, it won't be a large part. You will probably be in the back row of a chorus or something. But, you still need an agent. Get one asap. Then you work your way up. Just be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day. Also, in high school, do the plays and other theater...get yourself out there. When you go to college, major in theater or singing, the performing arts. You have a long time to perfect your voice and acting technique.
You might want to research the careers of actresses who have already played Elphaba. You can see what type of experience you need. Put a picture of Elphaba on your wall and try to do anything you can to have it be you up there. Go see the play a million times. When you go, don't just think about how AWESOME it is to be there, think about what the actors have to remember and their blocking and stage directions. Really think about all the things that go into the musical.

You're not going crazy! You are just passionate about something. That is a good thing. The important thing is to not let all those passionate feelings affect your ability to make good decisions or get depressed. Successful people use their emotions to move forward through life. Use your passion, your desire, your frustration, etc, to motivate you to try harder. Use all that passion to really pour yourself into becoming a better actor. You're only 12 - cut yourself some slack! Go for your dreams but be realistic about what you can accomplish at this point in your life. If it doesn't happen this year, or next, or the next five, you've still got your whole life to live! Focus on becoming the world's greatest actress by the time you're 25. Just take it slow and steady and then you won't be thrown off by what happens right now. Keep that passion! :)

Uh ... yeah. Relax girl. If you're 12 now, by the time your 20s come around, there will be another couple of plays that will have you saying "Wicked? What was that?" Just relax and grow up and start now working on your craft. Learn to sing and dance and act. Go to workshops. See a lot of shows. And when you start auditioning and getting parts, then you can start making plans for roles you'd like to do. Chill out!
